Action was checked from the 1032 flop, to the 9 turn and down to showdown after the 6 river was placed.

A tradition unlike any other — a player busting early in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event on Day 1.

The first of four starting flights kicked off at noon PT on Wednesday from Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas in the $10,000 world championship event.

Poker Hall of Famer Billy Baxter announced "shuffle up and deal" just 45 minutes before the first elimination from the most prestigious tournament in poker.

Malik Forces a Fold

On a pot of 90,000 and flop of 64K, Jose Noceda, in middle position, bet 40,000 after action was passed to him. Raza Malik, the only other player in the hand and seated under the gun, called to see the turn.

The turn fell 4 which both players checked. On the river 8, Malik fired 60,000 and Noceda folded.

Warlich Gets Nice Lick

Kevin Abecassis raised to 32,000 from middle position. Niklas Warlich three-bet to 105,000 from the hijack. Meraf Tedl, sitting on the button made the call.

Abecassis went all in over the top with his 1,300,000-plus stack.

Warlich spent a full minute considering the call, which would put him all in for 562,000. He decided to risk it. Tedla checked out of the hand.
