2025 World Series of Poker
Nicholas Go opened to 1,600 from middle position and Paul Hizer raised on the button. Go jammed for his remaining 16,500 and Hizer snap called.
Nicholas Go: A♦Q♠
Paul Hizer: A♠K♠
Go needed to improve but missed on the 8♣10♠4♦ flop, and the 6♠ turn didn't change much either. The K♦ river just improved Hizer more, sending Go home.
Michael Mizrachi and Petko Tsakov had gathered around 10,000 in the middle when the 6♠K♥K♣ flop hit the felt. Mizrachi checked to Tsakov, who bet 2,000. Mizrachi flicked in a call before he led out for the minimum of 600 on the 2♣ turn.
Tsakov called to the 5♠ river, where Mizrachi made another tiny bet of 1,500. Tskaov instantly mucked his cards as Mizrachi added more chips to his mountainous stack.
Aram Oganyan opened up the action to 1,500 under the gun and received calls from Daniel James on his direct left, Qui Nguyen on the button, and Benjamin Wilton in the big blind.
The flop of J♠3♠8♣ checked through, bringing in the K♠ on the turn. The three other players in the hand checked to Nguyen again, and this time the 2016 Champion bet out for 2,500. The other three players folded, and Nguyen showed K♣Q♠ for top pair and a flush draw.
Chao Duan opened to 1,400 from middle position and was called by Vadim Shlez in the hijack and Ryan Leng on the button. Richard Dubini squeezed to 7,000 from the big blind, which got folds from Duan and Shlez, but a call from Leng for a bloated heads-up pot.
Leng called a 10,000 bet from Dubini on the 3♠9♥6♦ flop, but folded after Dubini announced he was all in on the K♥ turn.
"That [king] was either good for me or bad for me," Leng said as Dubini collected the pot.
On a board of 7♦K♠9♦5♠ with 24,000 in the main pot, 36,000 in the side pot and Roscoe Light already all-in, Robert Zeidman checked the 7♥ river and Thad Mcnulty checked back, so all three players' cards went on their backs.
Roscoe Light: K♣J♦
Robert Zeidman: A♥K♥
Thad Mcnulty: 10♠8♠
Light was at risk with two pair, but Zeidman had a better kicker and won the pot against Mcnulty's missed draws. "I didn't cash a single tournament this summer," Light said before leaving the tournament area.
Yukako Hiroi moved all in from early position, for roughly 9,000. Action folded to Damian Gibbs in the big blind, who made the call.
Yukako Hiroi: A♠Q♦
Damian Gibbs: 7♠7♥
Hiroi was left with an impossible task on the 7♣9♦2♣, as she was now drawing dead.
As the dealer was dealing the 4♠ turn and the 5♦ river, Hiroi was already gathering her belongings to leave.
Phil Hellmuth has been resting his eyes in between hands, with his head slumped into his arms on the ledge of the table. When the action folded to him in this particular hand, he awoke to put in a raise on the button to 1,400.
Yukako Hiroi, in the small blind, responded by three-betting to 6,400, and Hellmuth chose to call.
Both players checked the 5♦J♥2♥ flop, moving swiftly onto the turn.
Hiroi checked for a second time on the 5♣ turn, which gave Hellmuth the green light to take over the betting lead. He placed a bet of 7,000, which Hiroi promptly called.
The 2♣ river saw Hiroi check for a third time, but Hellmuth wasn't done yet. He placed another bet, this time for 8,000, and after a moment of thought, Hiroi called.
Hellmuth rolled over Q♠Q♣, which was good enough to beat Hiroi, who mucked her hand.
The pot was pushed in Hellmuth's direction, who stacked his chips and returned to his slumber.
There were roughly 16,000 chips in the pot on 3♦6♦K♠K♥J♥.
Oleg Vasylchenko checked from the big blind to Stephen Chidwick on the button, who fired a bet of 9,000 on the river. After a few moments of thought, Vasylchenko check-raised to 26,000. Chidwick went into the tank before eventually making the call.
Vasylchenko tabled K♦10♠ for three of a kind, Chidwick nodded his head and mucked his cards.
Ruben Correia raised to 1,300 in middle position and was called by James Gorham on the button and small blind Simon Britton.
The flop came Q♦2♣4♣ and Correia bet 2,200. Gorham folded, while Britton called to see the 3♥ turn.
Correia then bet 5,000 and Britton again called. Britton checked over to Correia once more on the 5♠ river, and this time Correia checked back.
"Bad runout. I had you crushed," Correia said as he showed 4♥4♠ for a set. Britton tossed king-queen into the muck.
"Expensive river for me," Correia added after the hand.
"It's okay. You don't want to take any more chips off me," Britton added.
"I do. Nothing against you personally, I just like chips," Correia replied.
