Lee Hits a Wheely Good River

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

The action folded all the way to Diego Ponce in the small blind and he raised it up to 1,300,000 with the 10♠4♣, Daehyung Lee called with the J♦5♦ in the big blind. On the Q♣3♦2♥ flop, Ponce bet 800,000 and Lee floated along to bring an action card with the 4♦ turn.

Ponce now fired a bet of 2,400,000 and Lee called with his straight and flush draw, one of which completed with the A♥ on the river.

With a pot of 9,400,000 by then, Ponce gave it some thought before block-betting only 500,000. Lee double-checked his cards again and first prepared a call before grabbing raising chips. More consideration was needed by Lee, who then raised big to 5,000,000 only for Ponce to snap-fold.

Lautaro Guerra opened the action from middle position, and Leo Margets responded with a three-bet to 1,200,000 from the cutoff. Without much hesitation, Guerra came back over the top, this time with a hefty four-bet to 10,325,000, enough to put Margets at risk for her tournament life.

Margets gave it a brief thought, but tossed her cards into the muck.

Kenny Hallaert raised to 850,000 in the cutoff as action went on Will Kassouf in the small blind. Pedro Padilha called the clock after just a few seconds had passed.

"Does he get a warning for calling the clock after five seconds? I'll give you $10,000 if I don't have a hand. You give me $10,000 if I have a hand. Put your money where your mouth is," Kassouf told him.

He eventually tossed in his last 2,700,000 and Hallaert called.

"He's raising with king-five, and he's calling my shove. PokerStars professional, sponsored player," Kassouf said after Hallaert revealed his hand. The A♣J♠10♦ flop gave Hallaert a straight draw, while he spiked the K♣ on the turn to take the lead.

"Queen on the river. Disgusting. Seven or a queen, dealer's choice," Kassouf pleaded, but he missed the J♥ river and was sent to the rail.

"King-five. Well played. Absolute disgrace. F**king joke. You're all pathetic," Kassouf said while the rail began chanting "Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye,"

"See you next year. I'll remember all of your faces next year, and I'm going to bash you up," Kassouf added, including a few more choice words for tournament officials.

Fourth Time's the Charm for Tran

After three all-in attempts since joining the table, Theo Tran moved in for a fourth time, this time from the button holding K♦10♠. Michael Mizrachi, in the big blind, called him with Q♣Q♦, putting Tran at risk.

The flop came 10♦3♦A♦, giving Tran a pair and some backdoor possibilities. The K♥ on the turn improved him to two pair, but with the board still not safe, Tran stayed cautious.

When the K♣ hit the river, there was no more doubt. Tran locked up the double with a full house and finally secured a much-needed boost to his stack.

Buhaiov Wisely Checks Back As Afriat Turns the Nuts

Eric Afriat opened to 1,000,000 from early position and Nazar Buhaiov called from the next seat. Braxton Dunaway in the small blind and Muhamet Perati in the big blind also called.

They saw a flop of 10♣9♣3♠, where it checked to Afriat, who threw out a continuation-bet of 1,600,000. Buhaiov called, and both Dunaway & Perati folded.

Both checked on the 6♣ turn and Afriat checked the 2♠ river. Buhaiov took some time and elected to check back.

Afriat seemed frustrated and it was clear to see why as he flipped over the nuts with A♣3♣ to scoop the pot.

"Everybody wants to trap you," said Ruben Correia to Buhaiov, who just smirked as he watched the chips get pushed over to Afriat.

Shortly after, Buhaiov opened from under the gun and John Wasnock shoved from 4,800,000 from the next seat. Nobody called, and Wasnock added a few precious chips to his stack.

Michael Mizrachi raised to 825,000 from the hijack position, and the blinds called. Mizrachi’s continuation bet of 1,500,000 on the flop of A♣5♥3♣ took down the pot.

In the next hand, Mizrachi raised again for 825,000 but did not receive any callers.

Muhamet Perati opened to 800,000 in early position and was called by Nazar Buhaiov in middle position. Joseph Ozimok shoved all in for 7,100,000 on the button and the rest of the table folded.

On the next hand, Ozimok raised to 800,000 in the cutoff and Braxton Dunaway defended from the big blind. The flop came K♦10♥2♦ and Dunaway checked to Ozimok who continued with a bet of 550,000. Dunaway quickly folded and Ozimok raked in another pot.

Lee bet 1,300,000 and Veloso snap-folded.

Richard Freitas raised to 800,000 with the 8♠8♣ and then folded when Chris Dombrowski three-bet jammed for 9,425,000 with the A♥J♥.

Dombrowski then raised to 825,000 with the K♣Q♣ and Diego Ponce gave it some thought with the A♠8♠ in the cutoff, which he folded. All other players behind folded as well and Dombrowski earned the second pot in a row.

Luka Bojovic then raised to 800,000 on the button with 9♦9♣ and Tony Gregg came along with the K♣3♦ in the big blind, check-folding the Q♥10♥2♦ flop when Bojovic bet 600,000.

Pedro Padilha raised to 800,000 in the cutoff and Murilo Milhomem called in the small blind. Sebastian Schulze then moved all in for 7,425,000 in the big blind with J♠10♠ and Padilha quickly folded Q♣J♦, but Milhomem took a minute before sending his 4♥4♣ into the muck.

A few hands later, Schulze raised to 800,000 on the button with 7♠7♥ and Tomas Szwarcberg three-bet to 2,350,000 in the small blind holding A♥9♦. Schulze then shoved for 9,225,000 and Szwarcberg snap-folded.

Will Kassouf retook his seat at the table following this hand, but Szwarcberg argued he should sit out one more hand. "You're wrong and I'm right. You're wrong, Jack Effel's wrong, Dennis is wrong, and I'm right. They can't handle me. They can't handle the truth. They might be noise-cancelling headphones, but they're not Kassouf-cancelling," Kassouf said.
