Hansen Felted After Burn Card Controversy

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

With just a couple thousand in the middle preflop, a postflop raising war resulted in Todd Hansen getting the rest of his 30,500 stack into the middle from the button on a flop of 942, at risk against Pedro Dacunha in the cutoff.

Todd Hansen: AJ All in
Pedro Dacunha: 97

Hansen had two overs and the nut flush draw against the top pair of Dacunha.

However, as the dealer was about to deal the rest of the board, it was discovered that she had placed down an extra burn card before the turn. The card that mistakenly came on the turn was the J, which would have paired Hansen.

The floor was called and it was ruled that the third burn card would become the turn, and it was the 10. The jack of hearts that Hansen thought saved him became the third burn card.

The 9 river could not save Hansen, and he was eliminated in unfortunate fashion.
