Asher Spikes a Lone Ace to Leave Ayub With Crumbs
Level 25
: Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Kenneth Asher raised to 120,000 from early position and was three-bet to 500,000 by Ali Ayub in the cutoff. Action folded back to Asher, who four-bet to 1,200,000. Ayub moved all in, and Asher quickly called all in for approximately 2,400,000 to put himself at risk.
Kenneth Asher: A♦K♦
Ali Ayub: K♥K♠
Asher was behind, but immediately paired his ace on the J♠6♥A♥ flop to leave Ayub drawing to one out.
Wesley Fei and Virgile Turchi both announced they folded an ace preflop, and the dealer brought a 5♠ turn and 4♦ river to award Asher the unlikely double-up.
"This is only the second time I've been all-in in five days," a distraught Ayub said. "It was always gonna happen."
"So sick," Fei added as Asher collected the pot.
