Maybery Hits the River For Another Knockout

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Garett Maybery
Garett Maybery

"Big one," tablemate Matthew Brown said as Garett Maybery and Rudolph Bourg went to the river on a board of 8559K. According to Brown, Maybery had bet 1,400 from under the gun on the flop and Bourg raised to 3,500 in the cutoff. Maybery called, then called another bet of 3,500 from Bourg on the turn.

Bourg bet 16,000 on the river, and this time Maybery moved all in. "Kings full? I bet it so you would call," Bourg said as he went deep into the tank. He had around 27,000 more, and took a few minutes before calling.

Rudolph Bourg: 76All in
Garett Maybery: KK

Maybery did, indeed, show kings for a rivered full house, and Bourg sent his hand into the muck before heading to the rail.

"You're going to win the tournament," a tablemate said to Maybery.

"Long way to go," Maybery replied.

Chen Turns Joint in Massive Pot

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Yuchen Chen
Yuchen Chen

Small blind Yuchen Chen and Terry Kim in the cutoff had created a massive pot of 70,000 when they arrived on the 7254 turn. Chen bet 20,000, and Kim jammed all in for 53,000 after some thought.

Chen snap-called, and the players revealed their cards.

Yuchen Chen: 86 All in
Terry Kim: 1010

Kim's tens were drawing dead against Chen's straight, and the meaningless Q river upgraded Chen to a flush to eliminate his opponent in style.

Moments later, Eli Elezra sat down at this table as one of the new entries.

Altnether Cracks McCallum's Kings

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The rest of the field was already leaving for the dinner break while Adam Altnether and Duncan McCallum continued to tangle in a pot.

There was around 25,000 in the middle when McCallum bet 10,000 from the button on a flop of 1076. Altnether called in middle position.

The turn was the 8 and Altnether moved all in. "Wow," McCallum said as he tanked for several minutes into the break. He eventually called and turned over KK, but Altnether had hit a straight with 109.

The river was the 8 and Altnether secured the big pot. The stacks were counted down, and Altnether had McCallum's remaining 55,000 barely covered to send him to the rail.

Schneider Ships Four-Way Three-Bet Pot

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Ari Shin raised to 1,000 in early position. Nuri Yilmaz called in the cutoff before Jesse Keel squeezed in a three-bet to 3,500 on the button. Jordan Schneider called cold, and Shin and Yilmaz bought a flop as well.

The quartet then checked through the 510K flop, prompting Schneider to lead out for 7,200 on the J turn. Only Yilmaz called, and the 7 river was dealt.

Schneider checked, and Yilmaz opted to bet 14,000. Schneider let out a big sigh, but quickly called to showdown. Yilmaz tabled 55 for bottom set, but Schneider had a higher set with JJ to be awarded the chips.

Kuo Chops; Keating Up

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Ronny Ung raised to 1,000 from under the gun, and received a call from Todd Rebello sat on his left. Kitty Kuo defended her big blind, and the three saw a flop of A710. Action checked through to the 7 turn.

Here, Rebello led out for 2,000 when checked to, with Kuo his only customer. They then checked down the river, with Kuo's 108 good for a chop, as Rebello tabled J10 each playing tens and sevens with an ace.

At the same table, Alan Keating has had a solid start to his Main Event.

No Stab and Pick Up for Barone

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Aaron Barone raised to 800 from early position, and Martin Surovec called in the big blind.

Barone kept his story with a bet of 800 when the flop came J29, which Surovec called. Both players decided to check on the 5 turn. Surovec thought about his next move for a few moments then led out with a bet for 4,200, then Barone quickly folded.
