Vanes Gets Some Value

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

William Vanes opened to 1,500 from under the gun and picked up four callers. Hoan Nguyen called from late position, David Levy from the hijack, Kaleb Harwell on the button, and Sebastien Aube called from the big blind.

The J210 flop saw all check quickly to the 5 turn. Action was slowly checked around the table again to the 7 river. Aube checked, Vanes bet 3,500 and Nguyen mucked. Levy took a little while longer to muck his hand. Harwell called, which prompted Aube to muck.

Vanes showed his 77 for the set of sevens which he picked up on the river. Harwell mucked and Aube said "It was either this hand or nothing". Levy went on to say, "I had sixes". Aube thanked Harwell for his call as he said, "You called, so I folded".

The action checked to Engel on a AA5 flop, who bet 1,500. Davenport called, but the other two players folded.

Both players then checked on the Q turn and the 4 river.

Jewell Gets His Moment in the Spotlight

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

While Michael Jozoff complained to the table about continually losing three-bet pots to Nir Cohen, Hunter Jewell floated the idea of a swap to Jozoff, who politely declined.

Jewell made his intentions known, saying that he wants to be famous, whereas Jozoff prefers money over fame.

On the next hand, Michael Petrosian opened to 1,600 from middle position and was called by Jewell in the hijack and Craig Pollak in the big blind.

On the A86 flop, Petrosian continued for 1,500, and Jewell called before Pollak got out of the way.

Petrosian bet again on the 10 for 2,200, and Jewell quickly called once more.

The river brought the A as Petrosian led a final time for 5,500, and Jewell opted to just call. Petrosian conceded that he was bluffing, prompting Jewell to reveal 66 for a flopped set and rivered full house.

Apart from taking some heat from his tablemates, Jewell hurt his chances for future swapping considerations. However, he finally has gotten the fame he so desperately craved.

Frias Shoves on Isomura

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Raul Frias bet 1,200 from early position on the 9310 flop, which Michael Lavenburg called from middle position, while Shuhei Isomura came along from the big blind.

The 7 prompted Isomura to lead out for 4,500. Frias called, while Lavenburg got out of the way.

When the 6 completed the board, Isomura fired again, this time for 13,000. Frias took inventory of his stack, which totaled 40,200, before shoving all in. Isomura spent roughly a minute in the tank before folding, relinquishing the pot to Frias.
