Iris Liu called in first position to see Jonathan Newman raise to 7,000 in late position. Ryan Brown on the button, Tsugunari Toma in the small blind, Alan Dworetsky in the big blind, and Liu all called.
The flop rolled out A♠J♥8♣ to see action check to Newman, who bet 10,000, to see both Brown and Liu continue.
Action checked through on the turn K♠ to the river 9♥, where Liu bet 20,000 and won the pot.
Luke Tavis raised to 4,500 under the gun, which only Rene-Charles Angelil called on the button.
Once the dealer had provided the 4♥6♦3♦ flop, Tavis continued with another bet of 4,500. Angelil wasted no time inflating the pot, raising to 14,000. Tavis made an immediate decision on how to respond.
"This is how much of a nit I am", Tavis said as he folded 10♠10♦ face up, sure he was behind.
Angelil responded by windmilling 9♥8♥ across the table.
Richard Miller opened from the hijack. Yong Wang in the cutoff three-bet all in for 55,500, and Miller called.

Miller flopped two pair on a board of K♠7♠7♥3♠8♦ to eliminate Wang.
Yota Yamaguchi made it 4,000 to play from the cutoff and was looked up by Grant Gardner in the big blind.
The flop came 8♥9♠5♥ and Gardner checked it to Yamaguchi, who continued for 4,000.
Gardner tanked for a while before he moved in for about 35,000. Yamaguchi double-checked his cards and snap-called.

Gardner was in deep trouble but had outs to stay alive. No help on the 4♣ turn, and when the river bricked out with the 3♠, Gardner was sent to the dirt.
Andrew Robinson opened to 4,000 on the button before Jason Raber three-bet to 16,000 from the small blind.
Robinson made the call and sent them to a flop of 3♣3♠9♦. Raber continued for 8,000, and Robinson made the call.
The 10♠ did not slow Raber down, as he fired a second barrel for 25,000. Robinson was unfazed and made the call.
Raber slowed down with a check on the 5♥ river. Raber took a stack of chips and put them in the middle. Raber asked for a count, and it equaled out to 75,500. Rabe gave it some consideration before he put in the call by pushing a chip towards the middle.
Robinson showed A♦3♦ for trip tres to take a big chunk from Raber late on Day 2d.
Jason Pillman opened ripped 17,000 from middle position, Timo Kamphues called on the button and the blinds folded.

Brian Schwartz jammed in his stack of 40,000 from early position. Brian Porterfield called in the next seat over, covering his opponent.

The 7♦5♦9♠5♠A♣ runout brought no help for Schwartz, setting his exit in stone. Over at another table, Henok Tekle Mariam was also eliminated from the Main Event.
Aubrey Williams and Ibrahim Naim were heads-up on a flop of Q♦3♣K♠ when Williams bet 21,000 from the big blind. Naim called in early position.
Both players checked the 7♣ turn, and Williams then bet 62,000 on the 9♦ river. Naim only took a few seconds before calling again.
Williams showed A♥J♦ for ace-high, while Naim had A♣K♥ for top pair to win the pot.
Krishna Madhariwar was all in for 55,000 preflop with A♣K♣ and Philip Chow took the flip holding the Q♦Q♣. The 8♣7♣6♦ flop gave Madhariwar a flush draw, and he could also chop when the possible straight draw appeared on the 9♥ turn. The straight on the board indeed came, but it was the 10♣ river that awarded the double to Madhariwar instead.
Anthony Lombard raised to 4,000 from early position and was called by Jaime Lewin in the cutoff. Shiina Okamoto squeezed to 20,000 from the small blind, which got a call from Lombard and a fold from Lewin.
Okamoto check-called a 15,000 bet from Lombard on the 8♦7♦A♥ flop and a 50,000 barrel from Lombard on the 9♥ turn.
Both players checked on the J♣ river and Okamoto showed A♦K♠ for top pair, top kicker. It was no good, however, as Lombard revealed A♠7♠ for two pair to claim the pot.
