On the tail end of a K♥J♦6♠8♠9♣ board, James Burns on the button was spotted paying off a hefty bet of 168,000 by Ben Ramon and gasped a loud, "damn," after he was shown the Q♣10♠ for the open-ended straight draw that improved to the nut straight by Ramon.

Burns lost more than half of his stack in the process while Ramon leaped above half a million. The same also has been the case for Hossein Ensan in close proximity on a different table.

The action was picked up on a board of 4♠3♣10♥J♥7♦ with roughly 70,000 in the pot and Dan Matsuzuki in middle position who checked. Samantha Abernathy in the cutoff moved all in for 96,000 and Matsuzuki went deep into the tank.

After a long moment, Matsuzuki chose to fold and Abernathy revealed K♥Q♥ for a missed royal flush draw and scooped the pot.

Jose Zurita made it 8,000 to play from the hijack only for David Elyashar to three-bet to 22,000 from the cutoff. Action came around to Phillip Mighall in the big blind who put in a four-bet to 50,000.

Zurita went into the tank for a good while before he released his hand and it was then Elyashar's turn to go into the tank which he did before he five-bet all in for not much more, Mighall snap-called.

No help for Elyashar on the 10♥8♠4♦5♥4♠ run out and he was sent to the rail whilst Mighall edges closer to the million chip mark.

Caitlin Comeskey opened to 8,000 from the cutoff and Scott Hempel three-bet to 25,000 on the button. Jonathan Wahnich four-bet to 82,000 from the big blind and Comeskey folded. Hempel went into the tank before jamming for 236,000. He was only just covered by Wanhnichs stack who was sitting with only a handful more big blinds than him.

Hempel was behind and needed to improve to stay alive in the Main Event. With a king coming in the window, that looked unlikely, but the full 8♦A♥K♣ flop saw some hope still remain for Hempel.

A 10♦ was turned and nothing changed on the 9♠ river. The dealer verified the counts and Wahnich stacked up, having doubled up with his kings.

Three players saw a 3♠4♠J♣ flop, with Shreesh Hebbar first to act from the big blind. Hebbar led for 45,000, which got a call from David Shaw in early position, while the cutoff got out of the way.

The 10♣ hit the turn, and Hebbar kept up the aggression with a bet of 80,000. Shaw again elected to call.

The 8♥ completed the board, and Hebbar unloaded the clip with a third and final barrel of 150,000. Shaw eventually folded, asking, "Show one time, come on."

Hebbar only smiled and slid his cards face down back to the dealer.

With around 50,000 already in the pot, Scott Baumstein checked to Ren Lin on an A♦5♠6♦ flop. Baumstein was in early position, with Lin seated immediately to his left. Lin bet 15,000, and Baumstein called.

Both players checked on the 10♥ turn, prompting Baumstein to lead out for 11,000 on the 4♦ river.

"I know what you have", Lin told Baumstein before making the call.

Baumstein tabled A♠J♠, which surprised Lin, as that seemingly was not what he thought Baumstein had.

After a moment had passed, Lin tabled the same hand, A♣J♥.

"That's really tilting", Baumstein mused.

"If I jam, you call?" Lin responded, much to the amusement of others at the table.

"I don't even know if you're being serious", Baumstein told Lin, by which point, the dealer had apportioned the pot, and play was moving on.

Sverko Chips Up Amid Minor Controversy

Arturas Astrauskas raised to 8,000 and was called by Pierre-Alexandre Lessard in the next seat. Gregor Sverko then three-bet to 35,000 and it folded to Brian Wood in the big blind, who put in one chip thinking he called the min-raise. The players at the table called the floor and while they were waiting for the decision, Wood prepared calling chips.

During that time, Astrauskas and Lessard had folded and the dealer swiped the cards along with Wood's right into the muck. After the situation was explained twice, Sverko was awarded the pot as both players agreed not to insist on the full amount which Wood described as "good karma" for both players.

Terrence Jacobs then raised the button to 9,000 and won the blinds. "I fold, can we relax for a second," Wood joked.

One hand later, Sverko raised to 9,000 and Astrauskas defended the big blind. On the 10♣5♠3♦ flop, Astrauskas check-called for 13,000 and then check-folded the 8♦ turn when Sverko bet another 53,000.

Jonathan Stoeber opened the action to 9,000 under the gun. Two doors down, Kevin Killeen called the bet, and action folded to Will Kassouf in the big blind. He pulled out the classic "if you got it you got it," and moved all in for 32,000. Stoeber then got away with a four-bet to 53,000, and Killeen came along for a call.

The 8♣10♠A♥ flop was dealt, and both players contesting the side pot checked, as cameras began to swarm the table. The turn 10♥ had Stoeber rechecking his cards, before placing 12,000 in the middle. Killeen called, bringing in the 9♥ river.

Stoeber went small again, with 16,000 his sizing. Killeen then went into a three-minute tank before finally announcing, "all in." Stoeber snap-folded.

Killeen showed the nut flush, with Kassouf's small pocket pair well behind it. He wished the table luck, photographed the board, and headed off.

Mihai Manole opened to 8,000 from under the gun to start the action. Philip Chun was down to his final 12,000 and chose to go all in from the next seat over. Manole made the call to put Chun at risk.

Chun was in trouble against the higher pocket pair of Manole.

The flop was of little help to Chun as it came Q♠6♦10♠ to keep Manole in the lead.

Just as Chun got up from his chair and wished everyone a good game, the 8♣ peeled to offer a glimmer of hope.

That hope would be unfounded when the 3♥ hit the river to eliminate Chun from contention.
