Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

The penultimate level has come to an end on Day 3, which means the 1,525 remaining players are now going on their final 20-minute break of the day.

When they return at roughly 9:11 p.m., the blinds will be 3,000/6,000 with a big blind ante of 6,000. Here are some of the highlights from the previous two hours of poker:

Tirone Hits a Lucky River to Double

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Most of the players at Table 150 were on their feet as Carmine Tirone faced a big decision. On a board of 2A78, Tirone bet 23,000 from the small blind before James Farrelly raised to 75,000 from the big blind. With just 41,000 remaining, Tirone spent several minutes in the tank before eventually calling.

James Farrelly: 87

Tirone thought he was going to be eliminated, but he couldn’t hide his joy when the 2 on the river counterfeited Farrelly’s two pair.

Long Chips at Chen

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Yuchen Chen opened on the button and Jacob Long three-bet to 38,000 from the small blind. Chen four-bet to 78,000 and Long took some time before calling.

The J10K flop saw Long tank-check and Chen bet 44,000. Long called and the K was turned.

Both checked to see the 6 river and again to showdown. Long showed QQ. Chen nodded his head and said, "nice hand," and swiftly mucked his cards.

Three- and Five-Bets as Money Inches Closer

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Koray Korkmaz raised to 10,000 in the cutoff. Shawn Daniels three-bet to 28,000 on the button, which Korkmaz four-bet to 75,000.

Daniels responded by moving all in for 235,000, but that was too much for Korkmaz, as he mucked his hand.

Over at another table, Joshua Gebissa made it 12,000 to go in the hijack. Chiori Gannon called on the button before small blind Adam Brownstone three-bet to 40,000.

Gebiss folded before Gannon called, and the 46K flop was fanned. Brownstone continued for 18,000, and Gannon called. The 5 turn then checked through to the Q river, on which both players knuckled the table again.

Brownstone showed a rivered pair with AQ, taking down the pot when Gannon mucked.

Bye Bye Benny

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

The information on this hand was relayed by a PokerNews videographer, Josh Billingham.

Benny Glaser was all-in and at risk for 212,000 from the cutoff after he clashed with Michael McNicholas on the button.

Michael McNicholas: AA

Glaser was in trouble against the pocket rockets of McNicholas.

The flop gave Glaser a sliver of hope when it came down JQ3 to give Glaser a pair of jacks.

The turn was another paint card, but it was the wrong paint when the Q peeled.

Glaser was unable to find a miralce on the 9 river to bust on Day 3 of the Main Event.

Morgan Gives Rosa a Speech

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On the river of a A328A board, Fabrizio Rosa checked and then min-raised from 18,000 to 36,000 against James Morgan. The latter then pushed all in with the covering stack and Rosa went deep into the tank during which both players chatted back and forth.

"Save your money, we are getting close," Morgan said and even offered to reveal one of his cards.

When Rosa asked if his opponent could be bluffing, Morgan replied, "it's a possibility, very small though."

Ultimately, the clock was called on Rosa and he folded within the allocated thirty seconds. As promised, he got to pick one card and Morgan flipped over the A.

Owens Puts on a Clinic

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Karim Lehoussine opened to 11,000 from the cutoff. Fred Li called on the button, before George Owens three-bet to 33,000 from the small blind. Lehoussine got out of the way, but Li stuck around.

Li called a bet of 33,000 on the 5K2 flop, then a bet of 51,000 on the 8 turn. The river came the 4 and Owens fired out a third barrel, this time to the tune of 77,000. Li quickly folded.

"The nine seat is putting on a clinic," Jordan Siegel, also at the table, told PokerNews.

Buonocore Three-Bet Jams the Flop on Gerloff

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Martin Gerloff raised to 11,000 from the button and Andrea Buonocore three-bet to 35,000 from the big blind. Gerloff continued with a call.

The Q69 flop saw Buonocore fire 25,000. Gerloff quickly raised to 65,000, and after a few moments, Buonocore ripped it in for Gerloff's remaining 250,000 or so.

Gerloff went back to his cards, leaned back in his chair, and after a brief pause, folded, allowing Buonocore to drag in the pot.
