Jumalon Smacks the Turn to Double

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Lucas Jumalon
Lucas Jumalon

Andrew Yeh raised to 80,000 from the hijack and Lucas Jumalon called on the button. Lauri Saaskilahti also came along from the small blind before Ibrahim Naim squeezed to 1,300,000 from the big blind, leaving himself around 600,000 behind.

Yeh folded, and Naim then ripped it in over the top, covering both players. Saaskilahti got out of the way, and Jumalon made the call after securing the pay jump.

Lucas Jumalon: AJ All in
Ibrahim Naim: AK

Jumalon was in rough shape and needed a jack or some spades to keep his Main Event hopes alive.

The 657 flop provided no help, but the J on the turn was exactly what Jumalon was looking for as he paired his jack to take the lead.

The 7 river changed nothing, and Jumalon's Main Event run continued.

Shathaya Empties the Clip

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Sinan Shathaya raised to 80,000 from middle position and Marc Goldman defended his big blind.

Goldman check-called a 100,000 bet from Shathaya on the 9QJ flop and a 275,000 barrel from Shathaya on the 7 turn.

The 6 filled out the board and Goldman checked a final time. Shathaya announced he was all-in for approximately 900,000 total and Goldman let his hand go.

"I had a good queen," Goldman said as Shathaya collected the pot. "I think you missed out on some [chips]."

Asher Plays Back, Normand Eliminated

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Kenneth Asher raised to 80,000 in early position, and Sergio Aido three-bet to 240,000 on the button. When the action folded back to Asher, he responded with a four-bet to 780,000. Aido requested a count of the raise, but as soon as he had the number confirmed, he folded.

One table over, Frederic Normand put the last of his chips into the pot but didn't survive, and his Main Event was over for another year.

Elayday Shows...A Deuce?

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Will Givens raised to 100,000 under the gun and Sam Snead called in the hijack. "Will you please slow down, Sam?" Givens told him.

Action then folded around to DJ Sharma in the small blind. "Are you coming in, big dog?" Givens asked him.

"Sure. You can't win if you don't have a ticket," Sharma said as he called. Loai Elayday, though, then three-bet to 650,000 in the big blind.

"I love this guy. Know why I love him? Because he's cold. You can't feel his energy," Givens said. He folded, as did Snead.

"What will you do if I push?" Sharma asked Elayday before the dealer reminded him not to talk about the hand with action pending. Sharma then turned over 82 and tossed it into the muck.

Elayday responded by flashing the 2 as he took the pot. "Thanks for the 500," he told the rest of the table.

"This guy's a gangster!" Givens said.
