Liu Puts in a Massive Shove on Saaskilahti

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Zhao Liu
Zhao Liu

Heads-up on a board of 5952, Lauri Saaskilahti bet 1,600,000 from middle position and Zhao Liu called in the hijack.

The river was the 4 and Saaskilahti paused for several minutes until he checked. Liu then moved all in.

Saaskilahti tanked for another few minutes as he considered the decision for his last 7,000,000. He took so long that other tables were already bagging up their chips, while this table still hadn't even begun their final four hands.

Christopher George eventually called the clock. "Really?" Saaskilahti said to him.

"It's probably the biggest pot of the tournament, and we're not going to miss any hands," Patrick Leonard added. Saaskilahti eventually folded, and Liu showed 96 as he took the pot. Saaskilahti claimed he almost called him with king-high.

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Tyler Gaston
Tyler Gaston

Tianle Wang raised to 300,000 under the gun and was called by Tyler Gaston in the hijack and Edouard Sacrispeyre in the big blind.

Action checked to Gaston on the A7J flop, and he bet 375,000. Only Wang called.

The turn was the 3 and Gaston bet another 1,250,000. Wang again called and checked on the 4 river, and Gaston bet 3,200,000. Wang tanked for a few minutes before calling, and Gaston turned over 77 for a set to win the big pot.

A few hands later, Cade Lautenbacher raised to 300,000 under the gun and Ralph Perry three-bet to 900,000 in middle position. Lautenbacher called, and the flop came 653.

Perry bet 700,000, and Lautenbacher called. The turn was the K and Perry bet another 1,800,000.

"I can't beat you," Lautenbacher said as he folded.

"You don't even try. You have to go to the river," Perry replied as he took the pot.

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Brock Wilson
Brock Wilson

Brock Wilson raised to 325,000 from middle position and was called by Lucas Jumalon in the cutoff for a heads-up pot.

Wilson continued for 300,000 on the 3K7 flop and Jumalon raised to 850,000. Undeterred, Wilson made it 2,100,000 to go after a bit of a tank and Jumalon called.

The 5 turn brought three cards to a flush on board and Wilson sized down for a bet of 1,300,000, sending Jumalon deep into the tank.

After several minutes passed, Jumalon said, "Big laydown" and folded — conceding the large pot to Wilson.

Poker Player Tanks Over 15 Minutes in WSOP Main Event For Pay Jump

Level 29 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Loren Klein
Loren Klein

With just 72 players remaining in this year's WSOP Main Event, one player took the meaning of "tanking" to a new extreme, deliberating for over 15 minutes in an unsuccessful bid to secure a $20,000 pay jump.

On Day 6 of poker's world championship event, Loren Klein found himself all-in with just one chip behind, and was allowed to stall for an exceptionally long time before floor staff finally intervened.

Tyler Gaston, the player who contested the pot with Klein, told his opponent he would let him take his time to try to reach the next pay jump as action continued at the other tables.

Evagorou Loses Some to Gaston; Zhang Doubles

Congya Zhang
Congya Zhang

Evagoras Evagorou raised to 300,000 from under the gun and Tyler Gaston called, while all other players, including the table short stack Congya Zhang in the big blind, folded.

On the K92 flop, Evagorou bet 500,000 and Gaston called before they checked the 6 turn and Q river. Evagorou tabled his A5 for a bluff and then shook his head when Gaston revealed his 33 for a mighty pair of treys.

In the next hand, newly arrived Michael Gagliano raised to 350,000 on the button. Zhang jammed in the small blind for 875,000 and Gagliano called.

Congya Zhang: AK All in
Tyler Gaston: J9

The 1085 flop was a huge sweat for Zhang, but the ace-high came out on top after the 2 turn and 3 river.
