Maurice Hawkins raised to 45,000 from under-the-gun and faced a re-raise from Xiaohu Liu to 175,000 from early position.
Hawkins made the call and sent them to a flop of 9♥5♥7♥.
Both players checked the flop to bring the 8♥ turn. Hawkins checked before Liu bet 100,000. Hawkins called.
The 10♣ river resulted in another check from Hawkins. Liu asked to see Hawkins' stack before he fired 350,000. Hawkins went into the tank as he recounted the action and worked through the hand.
Hawkins eventually folded, showing J♥J♦ as Liu raked in the chips.
On a 6♦8♦J♦ flop with 300,000 chips in the middle, Colin Robinson bet 35,000 from the big blind and was called by his heads-up opponent, Maurice Hawkins in cutoff.
The J♥ fell on the turn and both players slowed down by going check, check.
Robinson once again checked the 8♣ river, prompting Hawkins to bet 120,000.
Robinson looked at this 300,000 stack behind and considered his next move. He threw in one-chip for a call.
Hawkins tabled 3♥3♦ which was beaten by Robinson's A♣10♠ due to a higher two-pair on the board.
Scott Eskenazi raised to 35,000 from the hijack, and Jeremy Becker said, "Oh, why not?" and called.
The flop arrived with 9♠9♥5♥, and both players checked.
On the turn K♣, both players checked again.
The river 4♠ had Becker throw out a bet of 70,000, and Eskenazi called fairly quickly.
Becker stated, "You are good," and mucked.
Eskenazi showed K♦Q♥ for two pair,
Zexiang Sun opened to 40,000 before Martin Kabrhel responded with a re-raise to 210,000. Sun made the call.
Martin continued for 100,000 on the 10♠9♥10♥ flop before Sun raised to 260,000. Martin called.
Both players checked the 9♣ turn to bring the J♣ river.
Martin Kabrhel bet 250,000 before Zexiang Sun shoved for his final 635,000.
Kabrhel moved his card protector hippo figurine over towards Sun in the next seat over and said, "Hippo smells bluff."
Kabrhel did not listen to his hippo as he opted to fold his hand.
Sun windmilled the A♠Q♦ for ace high as he showed the bluff.
Ivan Ruban put his big stack to work with a raise to 30,000 on the button, which only Jeremy Becker called in the big blind.
The action checked through on the 3♣5♥6♣ flop, and Becker checked once more on the A♣ turn. Ruban picked his betting lead back up on this street, putting 65,000 into the middle, which Becker called.
The 4♠ completed the board, and Becker checked one final time, again calling when Ruban bet 55,000.
Ruban flipped over A♠7♥, with his rivered straight good enough to lay claim to the pot as Becker mucked his hand.
With both their chips and their hands in the middle of the table, Anatoly Nikitin and Josh Reichard, at risk, faced a heads-up showdown.
Josh Reichard: A♦J♠
Anatoly Nikitin: A♠K♣
Nikitin had Reichard dominated, and he maintained his lead on the runout 2♣4♣4♠6♥. Reichard stood up and left the table as the K♠ river sealed Nikitin's victory.
In a battle of the blinds, Kamel Mokhammad was in the small blind, and Maurice Hawkins was in the big blind. The flop arrived with 6♥4♠8♦, and both players checked.
The turn K♦ brought the same result with both players checking.
On the river 3♠, Mokhammad put out a small value bet of 15,000. Hawkins made the call and mucked when Mokhammad showed 7♣3♣ for a pair of threes.
