Kephart Keeps the Pressure On

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Elana Kephart opened for 7,000 and Diana Zhao on the button called. Jenny Ding in the big blind joined in to see the flop.

The flop came 10Q6. Kephart continued with 15,000 after her action was checked, and Zhao alone called.

Both women tapped the table on the 2 turn.

On the river Q, Kephart resumed the pressure with a 30,000 bet which was enough to take the pot down.

After a check from small blind Angela Praitano, big blind Deepa Shah fired 15,0000 into a 20,000 pot on a 76J flop. Praitano called to see the next card.

Both players checked the 4 turn.

After action was passed to her on the 6 river, Shah shot out another 25,000 and Praitano called leading them to showdown.

Praitano showed KJ for jacks on the flop but was outkicked when Shah tabled AJ.

Phamolivo Goes Out on the Bubble

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

At the start of hand-for-hand play, Kristianne Phamolivo moved all in from under the gun with her last two 5,000 chips. Ksenia Shuali and Sayoko Matsumoto called from the button and big blind, respectively.

The flop hit 876. Shuali and Matsumoto both checked in their side pot action. They repeated those checks on the Q turn.

When the A fell on the river, Matsumoto checked. Shuali bet 13,000 and Matsumoto called.

The hands were tabled.

Matsumoto had [10c4] for a flush to win the side pot over Shuali, who had A6 for two pair.

Phamolivo showed AK and was eliminated as the last person before the money.

Davenport Stone Bubbles with Kings

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Sinead Davenport
Sinead Davenport

Sinead Davenport and Jixin Zhou got it all in on the first hand of hand-for-hand play, from the small and big blind respectively. Action was held till the floor deemed it was okay, and it was a massive blind-on-blind cooler.

Sinead Davenport: KK All in
Jixin Zhou: AK

Davenport was far out in the lead, and that fact didn't change on the 862 flop. However, the A flipped things completely, leaving Davenport with just a single out to survive. The 3 river helped her none, as she exited the tournament one away from the money.

Kitagawa's Kings No Good

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Action was picked up on a 257 flop, with Takana Kitagawa all in from the button, and three players contesting a side pot. Late position player Christine Priday bet out for 12,000 when checked to. Small blind Susan Baerveldt folded, but big blind Sin Chen stuck in the call.

Action checked through on the 2 turn, before Chen bet out for 40,000 on the A river. Priday let her cards go. Kitagawa showed that her KK had been bested in a brutal fashion, as she exited on the soft bubble.

Finds the Lay Down

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Rachelle Park limped in from early position, and action folded all the way around to big blind Elanit Hasas. She raised to 20,000, which was met with a prompt all in from Park.

Hasas wasted no time in folding QQ face up, saying "the chance I'm ahead there is so small." A few tablemates gave affirmative nods.
