2026 World Series of Poker
Level: 21
Blinds: 10,000/25,000
Ante: 25,000
Players were standing at table 139, with four hands on their backs and three of them at risk.
Viet Vo: 9♠8♥
John Andress: 8♦7♣
Samuel Laskowitz: K♠8♠
Walter Ripper: K♣10♣
The dealer fanned out the A♦A♠7♥2♠2♣ board, leaving Andress with the best hand to take Vo's bounty. Ripper claimed the side pot, sending Laskowitz to the payout desk.
Feng Yu made it 80,000 to play from early position and Kevin Appleyard called from the next seat for his tournament life. The rest of the table folded and cards were revealed.
Kevin Appleyard: A♠Q♣
Feng Yu: A♦10♣
Appleyard was looking good for the double-up on the A♥J♠6♠ flop but the poker gods have sick minds sometimes and served up the 10♦ as the turn to send Yu into the lead. Appleyard still had outs though to stay alive.
No king or queen came on the 9♦ brick of a river and Appleyard was sent to the rail in a cruel manner as our bubble boy.
On the second hand of hand-for-hand play, the hand was picked up on the river, with Wataru Kosugi having gone all in with 325,000 chips on a board that read 7♠2♠4♥7♦5♥.
Kenneth Kim took his time on the decision, but eventually made the call for less.
Kosugi tabled J♥9♥, showing he hit a flush on the river.
Kim tabled 5♣5♠. He rivered a full house for the survival double-up.
On the first hand of hand-for-hand play, Pavlo Veksler raised to 30,000 under the gun. Mauro Ferreira three-bet all in for 135,000.
Veksler made the call.
Ferreira was in trouble on the flop Q♦8♦3♥, with Veksler hitting a pair of queens. But the turn-river combination of K♦K♥ gave Ferreira trip kings and more life.
After watching three players fold out of turn, Brian Batt moved all in from under the gun. Bin Weng stuck in a call from the small blind, and the hands were turned up.
Brian Batt: 10♠10♣
Bin Weng: A♥7♠
Weng could not connect on the Q♥K♣7♦4♠4♦ board, as Batt saw his pocket pair hold to earn the double-up.
Level: 20
Blinds: 10,000/20,000
Ante: 20,000
Dustin Harrelson opened to 35,000 from under the gun, and Miguel Lopes moved all in from the big blind. Harrelson stuck in the call, and action was held until play was completed on the other tables.
Miguel Lopes: K♠K♣
Dustin Harrelson: A♠3♦
Lopes was never in danger on the Q♥8♣3♣10♠5♣ runout, seeing his kings hold to double up on the bubble.
Kosaku Akashi open-jammed all in for 70,000 from under the gun and action folded to Blaz Zerjav on the button who also moved all in and had the blinds covered, who both folded quickly.
Kosaku Akashi: K♠K♥
Blaz Zerjav: A♥Q♠
It was looking good for Akashi on the 4♠5♥J♦ flop and the 7♣ turn made no difference. But, the dealer must have dug out his Barry Greenstein books this morning and peeled off the A♠ as the river to send Akashi to the rail just before the bubble.
