Bubble Bursts Before Hand-for-Hand Begins

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Tournament officials had paused the clock and were preparing to go hand-for-hand, but before that could take place, three players were eliminated from contention to burst the bubble.

The unfortunate three players to bow out just before making the money were Zachary Donovan, Francisco Zufiatamayo, and Patrick Truong as the rest of the field is now in the money on Day 2 of Event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship.

A minimum cash is worth $6,001.

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Jared Jaffee opened to 12,000 from under the gun before Luan Pereira Coelho made the call from early position.

Jaffe continued for 10,000 on the 23A flop before Coelho made the call.

Both players checked the 10 turn to bring the K river.

Jaffe checked once again before Coelho put out a bet of 36,000. Jaffe looked him up to go to a showdown.

Coelho showed that the river was really good to him as he revealed AQ for a flush on the river to claim the pot.

Two Brutal Set-Over-Set Coolers Send High-Stakes Pros Out of WSOP Main Event

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sandvik & Tsai
Sandvik & Tsai

If one set-over-set cooler wasn't painful enough, the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event produced two within moments of each other on different tables. Both were every bit as brutal as the bad beat that kicked off Day 6.

High-stakes pros Espen Sandvik and Andy "Andy Stacks" Tsai both saw deep runs come to heartbreaking ends on Day 6 after flopping or turning sets, only to discover their opponents held even bigger ones.

Tsai is best known for battling in some of the biggest cash games in the world, while Sandvik is no stranger to the high roller circuit either, with numerous cashes in $25,000 buy-in events. Neither could survive one of poker's nastiest coolers.

Yeole Clears Them Out

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

It was three-handed with approximately 50,000 already in the middle when this hand was picked up on a flop of 667.

Stefano Spataro checked from the hijacker before Ashish Yeole followed with a check from the cutoff.

Xiaohu Liu opted to bet 25,000 on the button, and Spataro made the call.

Yeole wanted to raise the price and chose to check-raise to 158,000 in response. Liu gave it thoughtful consideration before he made the fold.

Spataro followed with a fold as Yeole won the pot on the flop with his check-raise.

Three Outs Not a Problem for Minghini

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

James Minghini in the small blind and Jin Wei in the big blind clashed after a series of raises between the two blinds saw the chips go in the middle with Wei at risk for 132,000 as they went to a showdown.

Jin Wei: AKAll in
James Minghini: AQ

Wei was in great shape as she held the better ace as they went to a runout.

The flop was all going according to the script for Wei as it came 739 to keep Wei in the lead.

It took a turn for the worse when the dealer peeled the Q to give Minghini the dominant lead with one card to go.

The 7 river was the final stop for Wei as she was eliminated from contention.

The river 6 brought another check from Zufiatamayo, and Richardson smoothly moved forward one 25,000 chip. Zufiatamayo called to see the bad news.

Richardson showed a true big blind special with 53 for a straight. Francisco Zufiatamayo mucked.
