Cheryl Cummings Loses Some But Still Healthy

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Cheryl Cummings opened to 800 and received two callers. The flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Cummings check-called a bet of 1,000. The {a-Clubs} fell on the turn and Cummings led with a bet of 2,000. Her opponent jammed over top for 5,325 total and Cummings folded.

The Great One Gives a Gift to Archie Chateauneuf

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

As we approached the table, Archie Chateauneuf had called an all-in shove from his heads-up opponent on a {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop.

Chateauneuf: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Chateauneuf was the player at risk and was ahead going into the turn. Unfortunately, the turn was a {k-Spades}, leaving the Canadian with only two outs to save him.

Wearing a classic Edmonton Oilers hat and holding the number of the greatest player to ever play the game of hockey, Wayne Gretzky's 99, Chateauneuf spiked the {9-Clubs} on the river to stay alive and score the double-up.

Billy Baxter Eliminated

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Billy Baxter - (earlier in the series)

Billy Baxter moved all in for his remaining 2,650 from middle position and was called by the player in the hijack.

"I have nothing," announced Baxter before both players tabled their cards.

Baxter: {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} to see Baxter unable to improve as he was eliminated from the tournament.

"It was a pleasure having you at the table," said Baxter's opponent following the hand.

Baxter thanked his tablemates before exiting the Amazon Room.

Double KO for McCormick

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

"They were both drawing dead," said Tom McCormick after recently eliminating two players in the same hand, seeing him stack up to 32,500.

McCormick is having a great series, cashing three times with deep runs in the Collussus and Millionaire Maker before a 17th-place finish in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship.

McCormick has cashed 61 times during his WSOP career and will be looking to add another one here in the Super Seniors event.

Shaffer on the Rise

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

With the flop showing {4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Al Shaffer bet from middle position before his opponent raised to 2,000 from the button. Shaffer called.

The turn brought the {j-Diamonds} and Shaffer checked. The player on the button then moved all in for 7,050. Shaffer snap-called.

Shaffer: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Shaffer had turned the flush and had his opponent drawing dead.

The meaningless {9-Spades} completed the board, resulting in one player exiting the tournament floor, whilst Shaffer chipped up to 32,000.

Anderson Takes One Out

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Both Dave Anderson and his opponent exchanged a series of raises on a {2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop until the latter was all in for his remaining 3,650.

Anderson: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Opponent: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out with the {6-Clubs} and {5-Spades}, giving Anderson the unlikely victory with a straight.

"I'm sorry, bud. That was a bad call," said Anderson to his opponent, following the hand.

"I thought he had the ace-king," Anderson added shortly after as he raked in the pot to see him rise to 17,000.
