128 players finished Level 20 and are now on a 75-minute dinner break. Action will resume around 8:25 p.m. local time.
Sonny Franco opened to 40,000 from early position and Ravi Sheth defended from the big blind.
Franco continued for 35,000 on the Q♠6♥7♣ and Seth check-called. He checked the J♣ turn and Franco checked-back.
The 6♣ river landed on the felt and Sheth decided to bet. I didn’t have to push his chips forward, as Franco had already folded.
Pol Vela opened to 40,000 from middle position, and Benjamin Chalot in the cutoff three-bet to 120,000. Vela quickly called.
The flop came 8♣4♣7♣, and Chalot continued for 50,000. Vela responded with a check-raise to 155,000, forcing Chalot to fold and giving Vela the pot.
Werner Lootsma opened to 45,000 from middle position and was called by both Chongxian Yang to his left and Steven Jones in the small blind. Gilles Simon however squeezed to 270,000 from the big blind and only Lootsma called.
Simon continued for 400,000 on the Q♦9♦5♥ and was called, but both players checked the J♦ turn.
Simon checked again the K♦ river and Lootsma announced "all-in". The dealer counted Lootsma's stack but Simon folded.
The action was picked up on a board of 3♦9♣J♠6♦5♠ with a bit more than 650,000 in the pot. Shiina Okamoto in the cutoff moved all-in and Sergio Veloso in the small blind with 450,000 behind went deep into the tank.
As reporters around the table waited for his decision, he eventually made the call with K♥5♥ for a pair of fives, running into Okamoto’s A♦A♠.
