Joao Simao

Joao Simao is a Brazilian poker player with four World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets. As of June 2026, Simao had more than $20 million in live poker tournament cashes, and many more millions from his online poker exploits.

Simao won his first WSOP bracelet online in 2021, becoming the last player standing from 1,584 entrants in the $1,111 Caesars Cares Charity Event. That victory also came with $228,946 in prize money. A year later, Simao won the $5,000 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha for $686,242 and his second WSOP bracelet.

The popular Brazilian got his hands on his third bracelet at the 2025 WSOP Paradise festival. Here, he won the $150,000 Triton No-Limit Hold'em event for a colossal $3,067,000, the largest score of his career.

Having already cashed in four 2026 WSOP events, Simao entered the $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event. Three days later, he emerged victorious, winning his fourth bracelet and $1,368,700 in prize money.

Speaking shortly after winning bracelet number four, Simao said, "This one is very special, especially with it being Father’s Day. When Brazil won the World Cup the fourth time, we used to call out ‘tetra, tetra.’ That means the fourth title. So it’s big, famous in Brazil to scream ‘tetra’ every time you make four times something. Fourth title for anything, fourth time you have anything. It’s very special for Brazilian people. So this means a lot for me."
