Kurganov Picks One Up

Michael Telker opened with a raise to 6,500 and Roman Romanovsky reraised to 13,500 from the hijack seat. Igor Kurganov put in a cold four-bet to 24,500 from the cutoff seat and action folded back over to Telker. With about 65,000 in chips left, Telker gave it up. Romanovsky quickly folded right behind him and Kurganov won the pot.

Somerville Eliminated

From under the gun, Phil Ivey raised to 7,500. On the button, Andrew Badecker reraised to 24,000. In the big blind, Jason Somerville reraised all in for 65,600. Ivey folded and Badecker made the call.

Badecker: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Somerville: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The flop, turn and river ran out {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Somerville was eliminated.

Schwartz Pressures Romanovsky

From the hijack seat, Noah Schwartz raised to 6,000. Roman Romanovsky reraised to 14,600 from the button as he has so often been doing and then action folded back to Schwartz. He called and the flop came down {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Schwartz checked and Romanovsky bet 15,800. Schwartz check-raised to 41,400 and Romanovsky called.

The turn was the {K-Spades} and Schwartz asked Romanovsky how much he had left. "About 140 or 150," said Romanovsky.

Schwartz then slid out a tall stack of blue chips to show that he was going to be putting Romanovsky to the test for all of his remaining chips if he wanted to continue. After some tanking, Romanovsky folded and Schwartz won the pot.

Elpayaa Chips Up with Aggression

Andrew Badecker raised to 6,600 and Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree called from the hijack seat. Phil Ivey called from the button and then action folded to Joseph Elpayaa in the big blind. He three-bet to 30,500 and Badecker folded. Boeree took some time, then called. Ivey took some time as well, but folded, leaving heads-up action to the flop.

The flop came down {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Elpayaa bet 24,900. Boeree made the call and the turn was the {A-Hearts}. Elpayaa fired 28,700 and Boeree folded.

Top Pair for Peters

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

From early position, Alexander Uskov raised to 7,000. Justin Bonomo called on the button, David Peters called from the small blind and Team PokerStars Pro Max Lykov called from the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades} and action checked around to see the {7-Spades} land on the turn. Peters led for 17,200 and Lykov called. Uskov folded and then Bonomo called as well.

The river completed the board with the {5-Hearts} and all three remaining players checked. Peters tabled the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Lykov the {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Bonomo mucked and Peters won the pot with top pair of queens.

Litvinov Cracks Kenney's Aces

Bryn Kenney had five-bet shoved all in against Artem Litvinov. After some tanking, Litvinov made the call holding the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Kenney had him crushed with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{J-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Litvinov spiked a Broadway straight to win the hand and bust Kenney in a pot worth just about 400,000 in chips. When the king spiked the river, Litvinov jumped out of his chair and celebrated a bit with his wife on the rail. Kenney was already out the door when Litvinov came back to stack up his new chips.
