Koen De Visscher Doubles Up

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

There was a little commotion over at the far end of the room so we did what anyone would do and we headed right on over. When we got their we saw Koen De Visscher all-in at at risk with {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and looking in bad shape against the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} of Adrian Veghinas.

De Visscher sat watching the board as the cards fell {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}......{J-Spades}! The river saved De Visscher and he now has circa 110,000 chips

At Least They Were Suited

Party or grind, or grind at the party?
Party or grind, or grind at the party?

Chris Moorman's seat was empty. We know a party has just kicked off on the on a boat on the lake. We know Moorman likes a party. We know Moorman doesn't like to hang around with a 20 big blind stack. These could all be separate parts of a maths equation where the answers always come out the same: Moorman made a move and busted to go to said party.

Martin finger raised to 5,000 and Morrman three-bet shoved for 55,000 with queen-five suited. Finger made the call with ace-jack, busted the Brit, and leant him a pair of dancing shoes.

Well, when you're hot, you're hot...

Balazs Botond just knocked out yet another player, Botond holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} against Nicola Bordignon's {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The latter cheered in celebration on the turn of a {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} board until he realised Botond had made a straight.

Kaiser Wins Half a MIllion

Ronnie Kaiser
Ronnie Kaiser

Ronny Kaiser has shot up the leaderboard, the EPT winner won a three-way all in preflop with {A-}{A-} against {A-}{K-} and {8-}{8-}. A lack of kings and eights meant Kaiser knocked out both his opponents and he's now one of the chip leaders.

Break Time

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The level has come to an end and the players have been sent on their final 15-minute break of the day. When they return they will play one more 75-minute level before heading off to the EPT Campione party!

Busquet Doubles Up

Last week Olivier Busquet spent the best part of three days grinding a short stack and did admirably well, finishing in the money. Here he's now one of the big stacks, Davor Lanini had made it 5,000 preflop with two callers behind him.

Busquet raised to 25,000 from the small blind and Lanini shoved, the two callers folded and Busquet put his tournament life on the line.

Lanini: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Busquet: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Busquet is now one of the big stacks.

Antonius Crippled, Doubles Next Hand, Then Busts!

Patrik Antonius
Patrik Antonius

A couple of players folded to Grigorij Orlov and the Latvian opened the betting with a raise to 5,000. Todd Terry and Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier folded but Patrik Antonius made the call, meaning it was heads up to the {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop. Orlov re-checked his cards before betting 16,100, a slightly larger than expected continuation bet but that did not put Antonous off one bit and he moved all in. Orlov called and the cards were flipped over.

Antonius: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Orlov: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} followed by the {7-Spades} river and when the stacks were counted Antonius was left with just 5,100 chips.

Antonius' micro stack went into the middle on the very next hand. Todd Terry opened in early position, ElkY three-bet to 12,200 and Antonius put his stack into the middle. Terry folded and the cards were shown.

Antonius: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
ElkY: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

By the river the board read {4-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Antonius' stack swelled to 20,000.

Amazingly, these went into the middle just one hand later. Terry raised, Antonius shoved with what turned out to be {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and terry auto-called with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Terry took the lead on the {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop and stayed in front as the turn and river were the {5-Clubs} and {A-Spades} respectively.
