Vamplew Has Set paid Off

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
David Vamplew
David Vamplew

We joined the action on former EPT London champion David Vamplew's table to see Piero Federici check call a bet of what looked like 25,000 on a {4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} flop. The turn brought the {6-Clubs} into play and Federici checked, Vamplew bet 53,000 and his Italian opponent made the call.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Federici checked once again. Vamplew reached for chips, and whilst he was doing so Federici was reaching for his own so before Vamplew's chips had crossed the line Federici had called.

Federici: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Vamplew: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

A decent pot for the Scot just before the break.

Fab for Soulier

Fabrice Soulier is up to 450,000 after he was all in preflop with {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} from the small blind against Balazs Botond's button raise with {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. The {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board making the nuts for the Frenchman on the turn, Botond is still in second place though.

Romanello Booted Out by Botond

Roberto Romanello
Roberto Romanello

We saw Roberto Romanello with the cut of a dejected figure hovering around the payout desk. I'm no Sherlock but this signalled bad news to me, and I had to investigate.

Sure enough the former EPT Prague champion had just been eliminated. He three-bet Balazs Botond's open to 33,000 and then called off for 245,000 when the Hungarian shoved on him. It was a race as Botond had pocket fives to Romanelllo's ace-queen. The board bricked and another former champion was downed.

Liv B Busted Out By Liv B

Liv Boeree: Busto
Liv Boeree: Busto

The PokerStars.com EPT Campione Main Event is now an all male affair with the elimination of Liv Boeree at the hands of Olivier Busquet.

Busquet opened the betting from UTG+1 to 12,000, Boeree called on the button and both blinds came along for the ride too. The flop came down {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Stefano Puccilli checked in the small blind, Marco Falanga checked in the big blind then Busquet made a continuation bet of 22,000. Only Boeree called and it was heads-up to the {3-Diamonds} turn.

Busquet set the price to play at 36,000 and Boeree was prepared to pay it and she called. The {K-Hearts} was the river card and Busquet quickly announced he was all in for his 280,000 stack and he moved two blue towers forward.

Boeree removed her headphones from left ear only and stared down at the heads-up sit 'n' go specialist for a good 90 seconds before making the call. Busquet flipped over {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a full house and Boeree angrily mucked and headed for the rail.

Can't Win Without a Per

Some hot Swede-on-Swede action for you now, just what you've been missing.

Robin Vlitalo was all in preflop holding {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} against Per Linde's {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and quickly won on a {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board to double up

Super Mario Defeats the Boss Botond

Mario Nagel refused to back down in button versus big blind battle against Balazs Botond, and was willing to risk all his stack.

The action folded to the German on the button and he opened to 12,000. The Hungarian three-bet to 27,000 from the big blind and was soon faced with a 58,500 four-bet. His response was to put in a small five-bet to 110,000. Room for a six-bet? There sure was. Nagel shoved and Botond backed down and folded.

Visscher Eruption

Koen De Visscher on Day 2.
Koen De Visscher on Day 2.

Massimiliano Bellon Bellucci opened to 15,000 preflop from the button and Koen De Visscher made it 38,000 in the small blind. Bellucci made the call to see an {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades} flop, De Visscher bet 31,000 and Bellucci called to see the {Q-Clubs} on the turn.

De Visscher now bet 65,000 and Bellucci called a second time and the dealer put out the {4-Clubs} on the river. De Visscher fired 133,000 this time and Bellucci decided to move all in for 258,500 in total. The Belgian took about 30 seconds before he shrugged and called.

Bellucci showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} but it was no good, De Visscher had turned a straight with {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} to win a monster pot and increase his chip lead.
