Coppola Cops It

Maurizio Coppola was crippled in a big and before he busted two hands later.

The first hand was a cooler as he woke up with {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} in the big blind when Mihai Manole had {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} in the small blind. Naturally the chips went in and the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

Two hands later he committed his last 9,000 chips after a 8,000 raise from Olivier Busquet. The big blind called as well and Coppola’s ace-ten was beaten by both players.

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

Rupert Elder
Rupert Elder

Rupert Elder immediately moved all in after the bubble for his last 40,000 or so with {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} but found Salvatore Donato behind him with {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} - the latter holding for the pot.

The awesomely named Thomas Butzhammer has also been knocked out.

Molis' Neck Wrang and He Bubbles

Hand for hand play never had to be enforced as a hand that took a long time to play out resulted in the elimination Benas Molis.

He was heads-up to a {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop against Jannick Wrang and his bet was raised to 37,500 by the Dane. He responded by three-betting to 79,000. Wranf thought for a minute and moved all-in. This sent Molis into the tank and he came out and said, “I think I have to call.”

He did and tabled the drawing {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, behind to the PokerStars qualifier’s {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The board ran out {a-Hearts}{5-Spades} to improve Wrang to a full house. All remaining players are now in the money.

Elder Moves All in

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Former EPT San Remo champion Rupert Elder open shoved from the button for around 61,000 and after stalling for close to two minutes, including counting out on his fingers and searching for what we believe to be his calculator, Salvatore Donato folded in the small blind and Todd Terry got out of the way in the big blind.

When the hand was finished Roberto Romanello asked the tournament director to watch the table because Donato was constantly stalling. He has since stopped taking forever to act and has now taken to slapping himself on the back of his neck and occasionally on his cheek.

Dean Bubbles the Bubble

Andrew Dean has gone out in 90th after he was all in for his last 29,000 with {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}, Simeon Naydenov had made the call behind him with {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and comprehensively won out on a board of {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

89 left, 88 get paid, it's squeaky bum time.

Great Call For Your Life

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Antonio Buonanno made a great call for his tournament life in a hand against Benas Molis. He opened from the hijack and the Lithuanian defended his big blind. The flop came {3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Molis led for 10,000. Call.

The turn fell {4-Spades} and Molis check-raised all-in. Buonanno was the player at risk with 101,500 and he tabled {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for top pair. Molis opened {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a pair and a gutshot that failed to come in on the {10-Diamonds} river.
