Buddiga Shoves on Stern

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Dani Stern raised to 5,500, and Pratyush Buddiga three-bet to 16,500. Action folded back to Stern, and he four-bet to 39,500 from the under-the-gun-plus-one position. Buddiga moved all in, and Stern folded right away.

Alexander Trevallion Eliminated

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

As we walked out of the media room, we ran into a rapidly-texting Alexander Trevallion. He told us that he had opened and got three-bet by an older player on the table. He called and check-raised all in on a {10-}{9-}{7-} flop with two clubs. His opponent had bet 13,000 on the flop and called Trevallion's shove for over 50,000 with {A-}{K-}. Trevallion told us he had {K-}{J-Clubs} and he failed to improve on the turn or river.

Mantel Makes a Small Value Bet

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Ariel Mantel
Ariel Mantel

Ariel Mantel opened from under the gun to 6,100, and Byron Kaverman was the only caller from the small blind. The short-stacked Juha Helppi folded from the big blind.

Kaverman and Mantel both checked the {K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop and {7-Hearts} turn. Then, Kaverman knocked on the table again after the {7-Spades} hit the board on the river. Mantel tossed in a single 5,000 chip, and Kaverman called after some thinking. Mantel showed the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, and Kaverman mucked.

Reinkemeier Doubles Through Schemion

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Tobias Reinkemeier opened to 5,000 from under the gun, and Ole Schemion three-bet to 14,000 from the hijack seat. Action folded back to Reinkemeier, and the German four-bet to 35,000. Schemion pushed all in for effectively 136,500, and Reinkemeier called.

Reinkemeier had the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, while Schemion was trailing with the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. The flop was a not-too-exciting {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The {6-Hearts} on the turn brought some excitement, but the river was the harmless {5-Clubs} and Reinkemeier doubled.

Helppi in a World of Pain

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Juha Helppi
Juha Helppi

Picking up the action on a board of {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Byron Kaverman had 110,000 in front of him from the big blind. Helppi, seated under the gun, had 25,000 in front of him and was now contemplating the additional chips. He eventually did, leaving himself with about 30,000, but mucked when Kaverman showed the {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flush.

Nice Call By Silver

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Max Silver helped us put together a hand he played against Adrian Mateos, which the former managed to win.

The hand started out four ways and was checked around on the {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{K-Clubs} flop. Silver bet 8,500 on the {2-Hearts} turn into a pot of about 17,000. Mateos was his only caller, and the {K-Spades} hit on the river. Silver bet 11,000, and Mateos raised to 36,000. Silver tanked for a while and eventually made the call. Mateos flashed {5-}{5-}, and Silver tabled the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

Mercier Mashing... Again

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Jason Mercier, coming from his fourth consecutive six-figure cash winning the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $25,000 High Roller, is doing well here in Barcelona. He's up to 300,000 after winning a small pot from Luuk Gieles. We caught the action with both players checking the {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{8-Spades} board before the {3-Hearts} landed on the river. Mercier bet out 8,700 and Gieles called, but he mucked upon seeing Mercier's {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.
