Big Stack Alert

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the three-way flop of {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, EPT11 Prague runner up Anton Bertilsson checked out of the big blind and Bernhard Haider bet 4,700 from under the gun. Day 1b chip leader Jaroslaw Sikora called and Bertilsson then check-raised to 17,500 to win the pot uncontested. Another big stack on the table is Jose Carlos Garcia.

Lakemeier Busts Lauck to go Atop

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After a raise to 2,000, Jens Lakemeier three-bet to 5,500 and Jonas Lauck cold four-bet to 12,500 out of the big blind. Lakemeier five-bet to 23,000 and Lauck called to see a flop of {8-}{6-}{3-} rainbow. Lauck check-raised all in with pocket jacks and Lakemeier snapped him off with pocket kings to claim the big pot after both turn and river were blanls.

Carrel Doubles Through Pyzara

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Charlie Carrel opened to 2,200 from under the gun and Kacper Pyzara three-bet to 4,000 to receive a call. On the flop {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} both players checked and Pyzara then shoved the {3-Hearts} turn for three times the pot. Carrel called with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for the nut flush draw while Pyzara held {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush draw and gutshot. Another three on the river completed the board and Carrel held up.

Mitrotta Cracks Kings to Eliminate Little

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Jonathan Little
Jonathan Little

We arrived at Table 14 to see a huge 175,000 pot being contested between Jonathan Little and Antonio Mitrotta. Apparently the former had opened with a raise only to have the latter three-bet. Another player flatted, Little four-bet, and Mitrotta five-bet jammed for roughly 85,000. The limper folded and Little snap-called off his nearly equal stack.

Mitrotta: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Little: {k-}{k-}

Little was looking dodge an ace, and he did just that on the {9-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. The American pro managed to dodge an ace on both the turn and river, but unfortunately for him they came the {J-Diamonds} and {10-Clubs} respectively to give Mitrotta a runner-runner Broadway straight.

Without a word, Little quickly collected his things and made a beeline for the door.

Metaal Calls With Queens

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Govert Metaal, with the fedora and reflective shades as always, told us about a hand where he gathered quite a few chips. After a raise under the gun and a call from a loose player in the cutoff, Govert Metaal flatted with {Q-}{Q-} from the small blind. All three of them checked on {9-Spades}{9-}{J-} and the {K-Spades} fell on the turn. Metaal and the initial raiser checked, and the cutoff bet 3,500. Metaal was the only one calling. A {X-Spades} fell on the river and Metaal checked. His opponent fired a hefty 15,000 into the middle and Metaal called. The cutoff had nothing but {7-}{8-} off suit and Metaal grew his stack to over 80,000.

Pahuja Jams on Zisimopoulos

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Georgios Zisimopoulos raised from under the gun and was called by Mukul Pahuja from one seat over. Zisimopoulos check-called a bet of 3,000 on the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and 5,000 on the {10-Diamonds} turn before checking the {7-Diamonds} on the river. Pahuja moved all in for 29,500 and Zisimopoulos tanked for a fair amount of time. The clock was called on him and just before the end of the one minute of consideration, the Greek folded {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Max Silver was somewhat surprised and Pahuja only revealed one of his two hole cards, it was the {10-Spades}.

Ortynskiy Races for His Tournament Life

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The preflop action escaped us, but we do know that Viatcheslav Ortynskiy got his stack of approximately 27,000 all in preflop as was at risk against Tobias Ziegler, who had the vast majority of his stack invested.

Ortynskiy: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Ziegler: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

It was a race, and while the {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop didn't hit Ortynskiy directly, it did give him a flush draw. The {8-Clubs} turn was just what he was looking for, and just like that Ziegler was drawing dead. The meaningless {5-Spades} was run out on the river for good measure, and Ortynskiy was shipped the double.
