Boatman Promises to Return

John Howlett raised to 800 in early position and received two callers before Barny Boatman stuck in his last 5,000 from the big blind. Only Howlett called.

"That's no good," Boatman said as the cards were revealed. The flop came J63 to give Boatman some hope with a straight draw.

"Any fours around?" he asked, but Boatman didn't improve on the K turn or 8 river and was sent to the rail.

"Are you going to reenter today?" tablemate Maria Konnikova asked Boatman, who promised he would be back for another bullet.

Metaal Pays Off the Champ

Heads-up on a board of 62Q2, Derk van Luijk led out for 2,000 from the big blind and Govert Metaal called in the cutoff.

The river was the 7 and Van Luijk bet another 4,000. Metaal again called and Van Luijk showed AQ as the defending champion took down the pot with two pair.

Lipp Catches Grieco Making a Move

With nearly 10,000 in the pot on a flop of 4A8, Nicola Grieco bet 8,100 from the small blind and Matthias Lipp called in the hijack.

The turn was the 10 and Grieco moved all in for 15,000. Lipp snap-called and turned over 88 for a set, while Grieco could only show KJ for a straight draw.

Grieco didn't improve on the 3 river and Lipp scored the knockout.

Camors Doubles With Jacks

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Action was on the flop on a board of 692 and Silva led out from the big blind for 2,400. Antoine Camors called the bet in late position.

The turn fell the 2 and Silva bet again, this time for 7,500. Camors called again for the majority of his stack. On the 2 river, Silva pushed all in for 12,000 and Camors quickly called for his last few chips.

Silva showed AK for a pair of deuces with ace high, while Camors had JJ for two pair, jacks and the deuces on board. He won the pot and doubled his stack, leaving Silva short.

Ni Wins at Showdown

Liangce Ni open-raised to 800 from middle position, Niclas Thumm called on the button, and Hugues Girard called in the big blind.

The flop came 93Q and Ni continued for 1,300. Thumm and Girard both called the bet. The turn was the 3 and Girard checked. Ni made it 3,500 to go and only Thumm called.

On the K river, Ni and Thumm checked to showdown. Ni showed QJ for a pair of queens, which was enough to win the pot as his opponent tossed his cards in the muck.

Lehr Whiffs as Kolonias Scores Big Knockout

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Keith Lehr and Alexandros Kolonias built a pot of around 18,000 as they went heads-up to a flop of KJ9. Kolonias then bet 5,000 from the big blind, Lehr moved all in for 19,500 on the button, and Kolonias tanked for a minute before calling.

Kolonias was ahead with his queens, while Lehr was looking to complete straight and flush draws. The board ran out 53 and Lehr missed both of his draws as he hit the rail.

"Good call," Lehr said to Kolonias who raked in the massive pot.

Colom Sends Out Lopes

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Vid Zagar three-bet to 3,300 in the small blind and Maxime Colom called under the gun. Bruno Lopes then stuck in his last 6,300 from the cutoff and both opponents called.

Zagar and Colom checked to the river on a board of KQ3K10 when Colom bet 5,500. Zagar snap-folded and Colom showed QJ for two pair. Lopes sent 98 into the muck on his way to the exit.

Awad Trips Up El Rais

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Three-handed on a flop of Q48 and around 6,500 in the pot, Mohamad El Rais bet 2,100 from middle position and Boutros Awad called in the cutoff, as did Dario Devincenzi in early position.

Action checked to Awad on the Q turn and he bet 4,500. Only El Rais called to see the 2 river, where Awad bet another 6,500.

El Rais again called and Awad turned over KQ for trips to win the pot.

Golinski Takes Chip Lead

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Bruno Lopes open-raised from late position and Mariusz Golinski three-bet to 6,000 from the small blind. Lopes flicked in chips to make the call.

The flop came 36A and Golinski continued for 2,500, which Lopes called. Both players then checked it back on the 5 turn.

The river was the 9 and Golinski fired out a large bet of 15,000, nearly a pot sized bet. Lopes made the call and Golinski turned over AK for top pair, top kicker. Lopes mucked his hand and his stack was reduced to around 10,000.

Golinski, meanwhile, after returning from the break third in chips, overtook Konnikova and Almeida to claim the chip lead.
