"The Rich Get Richer" As Alves Shows an Ace

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Ricardo Alves raised to 12,000 in middle position and was called by Eduard Barsegian in the hijack, Francois-Charles Scapula on the button, and Jack Hardcastle in the big blind.

Action checked to Barsegian on the A44 flop, and he bet 22,000. Only Alves called.

The turn was the 5 and Barsegian bet another 50,000. Alves again called and checked over to Barsegian on the 8 river, and this time Barsegian checked back.

Alves turned over AJ for two pair, and Barsegian mucked.

"The rich get richer. Just like in the real world," tablemate Siegfried Friedl said.

"Play zero. Luck 100," Ruben Lopes added as he came over to tease his countryman from another table.

Plegat Lays Down Jacks After Getting a Warning

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Kevin Naegelen raised to 12,000 under the gun before Francis Plegat announced a raise and also put in 12,000. Naegelen asked for the floor to come over and explained that this was the second time Plegat had done this at this table.

Plegat insisted he hadn't seen Naegelen's open and had simply made a mistake. The floor gave him a warning that he would receive a one-round penalty if he did it again, and he was forced to make it 18,000. Cedric Schwaederle called in the big blind, as did Naegelen.

All three players checked the 844 flop. Schwaederle then led out for 36,000 on the 2 turn and Naegelen folded. "This is my contribution," Plegat said as he quickly tossed JJ into the muck.

"You don't look like a man who would do that on purpose," tablemate Kayhan Mokri told him.

Rolando Carrera: AK All in
Kevin Naegelen: AQ

Carrera was in great shape to double, but the deck had other plans and presented Naegelen with a pair on the 8Q9 flop.

Pihela and Kobylynskyi Bite the Dust

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Igor Pihela open-shoved his stack of 156,000 as first to act. It folded to Joshua Boulton, who called in the cutoff.

Igor Pihela: KQ All in
Joshua Boulton: KK

Pihela was in dire shape against the kings of Boulton. The 3222 turn gave a slight chance at a chop, but the Q river was not enough for Pihela to survive his all-in.

At an adjacent table, Artem Kobylynskyi had moved in 95,000 from the big blind and was called by Mohamed Aissani in the hijack.

Artem Kobylynskyi: 22 All in
Mohamed Aissani: A10
