2025 Mediterranean Poker Party
Sergiu Covrig opened from middle position and Samantha Lake three-bet the hijack to 1,800,000. Covrig then four-bet shoved around 8,000,000. Lake had just under 6,000,000 back after her three-bet and committed her full stack to the pot.
Samantha Lake: A♣K♠
Sergiu Covrig: K♥K♦
It was a huge pot which would mean a stack of 16,000,000 for the winner, and it was Covrig that held a big lead with his Cowboys. After the dealer counted out the stacks, the flop of Q♦8♥4♥ was put out on board. A 3♥ turn was terrible for Lake as Covrig improved to a flush draw, leaving her with just two outs to hit.
Neither of those arrived on the 2♦ river, and Lake was sent to the rail.
Razvan Sabau made it 500,000 to go from middle position and Jessica Teusl defended her big blind.
Teusl check-called a bet of 575,000 from Sabau on the 2♦4♦A♠ flop.
The two players checked the 5♥ turn to see the 10♦ land on the river. Teusl led out for 1,000,000 and was met by a raise to 2,800,000 from Sabau. Teusl thought for a few moments before making the call.
Sabau turned over a flush with J♦8♦ to win the pot, as Teusl mucked her hand.
Pavel Nikiforov shoved for around 1,000,000 from the cutoff and Azamat Tulepbergenov put him at risk from the button.
Pavel Nikiforov: 7♣7♠
Azamat Tulepbergenov: Q♠Q♣
Nikiforov was looking for some help and found some as the dealer put out a flop of 6♥5♣8♥, giving him an open-ended straight draw. A 3♥ on the turn wasn't of any use, and neither was the 8♦ river, meaning Nikiforov was eliminated.
Natalia Nikitina made it 500,000 from the cutoff with Andreas Christoforou calling on the button, and Milad Oghabian Langar defending his big blind.
The flop came down J♠6♣4♦ and the action checked to Christoforou, who put out a bet of 600,000. Langar called, but Nikitina folded.
The K♣ turn checked through, as did the Q♠ river. Christoforou turned over 9♣9♠ and Langar mucked.
Garik Tamasian made it 500,000 from early position and Rustam Khamatgareev shoved from the button for around 3,000,000. Once the blinds folded, Tamasian quickly called with a covering stack.
Rustam Khamatgareev: K♦10♦
Garik Tamasian: Q♠Q♣
Khamatgareev was behind to the queens and stayed there as the J♠3♠2♥ flop wasn't what he was looking for. An 8♦ on the turn left him with just three outs, and the A♠ river confirmed his elimination.
Sergiu Covrig opened to 600,000 from early position and short-stacked Zorlu Er defended his big blind, leaving himself 625,000 behind.
On the J♥Q♠4♦ flop, those 625,000 went in the middle and Covrig quickly called.
Zorlu Er: Q♣4♣
Sergiu Covrig: A♦3♦
Er had flopped two pair but wasn't home and dry just yet as the 3♠ fell on the turn. An ace or a three is what Covrig needed to earn the knockout, but the 9♣ river wasn't it, meaning Er doubled up.
Italo Modena made it 500,000 under the gun and Tibor Nyuli three-bet to 1,000,000 from the hijack with just 300,000 behind. Dmitry Kukhtarev four-bet from the cutoff to 3,000,000, which forced Modena to fold. After using all six of his time banks, Nyuli called for the remainder of his stack.
Tibor Nyuli: A♠J♣
Dmitry Kukhtarev: A♥Q♠
Kukhtarev dominated Nyuli as the two saw the flop come down 5♥4♥8♣. The rest of the board came 5♠K♥ and Kukhtarev's ace-queen held up, sending Nyuli to the rail.
There were already around 3,400,000 in the pot on a flop of 4♥3♦9♣ when Raoul Kanme checked from the big blind and Bernard Larabi fired 600,000. Kanme then raised to 1,400,000, and Larabi dropped in the call.
A J♥ came on the turn and Kanme continued to show aggression with a bet of 2,800,000. Larabi eventually laid it down.
