Ehsan Amiri came in for a raise to 12,000 from early position, with 'Kenar' calling in the hijack, Jose Assorio calling from the button, and Elio Farah defending his big blind.
Farah and Amiri checked on the 3♠4♥6♣ flop, and 'Kenar' bet 19,000. Assorio and Farah got out of the way, but Amiri continued via a call.
The Q♣ joined the turn, and Amiri check-folded after 'Kenar' fired a second barrel of 35,000.
After a lot of raising back and forth, Xiaosheng Zheng and Felipe Ketzer got all of their chips into the middle for a pot of 650,000, with Ketzer the player at risk.

It was a massive flip in one of the biggest pots of the tournament.
The jacks of Zheng stayed ahead through the 9♥6♥2♣ flop and the 7♠ turn.
Only an ace or a king would win it for Ketzer, but instead the 5♣ completed the board, and Ketzer was eliminated while Zheng climbed to more than 700,000.

'Kenar' raised to 11,000 from middle position, and Javad Abdolvand jammed from the next seat for around 60,000. 'Kenar' called when the action got back to him.

Abdolvand was in bad shape against 'Kenar's superior ace, and he was left drawing dead by the turn on the 8♦5♦8♣9♦6♥ runout as 'Kenar' improved to a pair of nines.
Abdolvand was eliminated, and 'Kenar's stack climbed to around 700,000.
There was a raise from the hijack to 10,000, with Pedro Ingles calling on the button and 'Goofy' coming along from the big blind.
After 'Goofy' checked the A♣K♠3♥ flop, the initial raiser bet 15,000, which only 'Goofy' called.
Both players checked the 2♣ turn to see the 8♥ on the river. 'Goofy' led out for 54,000, with around 75,000 behind. The player in the hijack jammed, covering 'Goofy', and after using a few time banks, 'Goofy' folded.
Koray Korkmaz raised from early position to 10,000, and only Christopher Rossos called on the button.
Korkmaz bet 8,000 on the 3♥Q♦K♥ flop, which Rossos called.
The J♠ came on the turn, and both players checked to the 8♠ river. Korkmaz bet 36,000, and Rossos eventually called.
Korkmaz showed A♥K♠ for top pair, and Rossos mucked.
With 216 entries recorded on Day 1a of the $5,500 Main Event, play will continue today until only 32 remain.
All of which will bag up their chips and return for Day 2 on Wednesday, August 5, where they will all be in the money.
