Ebert Stacking Up Near Break

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Brian Ebert made last night's final table in the $85 Big Antes event but he isn't letting a late night slow him down. He's up to 120,000 after opening on the button with {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and winning a preflop all in against a short stack in the big blind who had about 10,000 and didn't improve with {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.

Sampson Back Over 200k with Bluff

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Paul Sampson
Paul Sampson

On a flop of {8-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Paul Sampson check-called a bet of 5,800 before he and the preflop aggressor checked the {J-Diamonds} on the turn.

The river landed the {4-Diamonds} and Sampson open-shoved for roughly 180,000 only to have his opponent - with roughly 25,000 behind - fold.

Sampson tabled his {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a bluff and raked in the pot to move to 207,000 in chips.

Mariano Makes a Tough Call

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Rob Mariano
Rob Mariano

Chris Hinchcliffe had the button, and he also had a bet of 6,000 on a {4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} board. "Boston" Rob Mariano was the big blind and made it 12,000 to go. Hinchcliffe tanked awhile and called, and Mariano checked to him on the {6-Clubs} river. Hinchcliffe moved all in for 28,100 effective. Mariano tanked about two or three minutes, and finally he stacked all of his chips and dropped them in.

"Ten-high," Hinchcliffe said, flipping {10-}{9-} over.

Mariano had {q-Spades}{8-Clubs} for two pair.

Wolpert Bets, Bets, and Bets

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Leo Wolpert opened to 1,600 and Andre Boltryk called next to speak.

The dealer spread a {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop and Wolpert bet out 2,100 with Boltryk calling as the {2-Hearts} landed on the turn and Wolpert bet 4,500.

Boltryk called, and when the river landed the {Q-Diamonds}, he was confronted with a 8,600-chip bet from Wolpert.

Eventually Boltryk folded and Wolpert raked in the pot.

Nineki Finds a Double

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

A player opened from middle position to 2,000 and got a caller in the small blind. Atsushi Nineki shipped it for 12,500 in the big blind. The opener reshoved, and Nineki figured he was in bad shape as he turned over {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. He was surprised to see he was in great shape against {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Nineki won with a flush.

Ball Out; Somerville's Outlook Grim

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Scott Ball
Scott Ball

Scott Ball just went bust, getting up from his table with {2-}{2-} in front of him. The dealer was sweeping his chips to an opponent who had gotten there with {a-}{j-}.

Meanwhile, at the previous level, Jason Somerville is sitting quite short after dropping a decent-sized pot where he opened from the cutoff to 1,400 and got a pair of callers. Everyone checked the flop and the board read {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} on fourth street. The small blind bet 2,500 and Somerville called. On the {2-Hearts} river, Somerville bet 4,500 when checked to. His opponent tanked over a minute and slid in a call. Somerville showed {j-}{9-} for a missed straight draw, and his opponent took it with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

Magnus Releases

Level 8 : 300/600, 100 ante

Nadya Magnus opened to 1,500 in the hijack and found two calls from the two players next to speak.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Magnus continued for 3,000 with the player in the cutoff calling as the button folded.

The turn landed the {3-Hearts} and Magnus check-folded to her opponent's 10,000-chip bet.
