Sahota Spikes Turn to Double

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Reuben Moss opened with a raise from early position only to have Joga Sahota shove for 192,000 from the big blind. Moss called and the cards were placed on their backs.

Moss: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Sahota: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop changed little, but the {Q-Spades} on the turn sent Sahota into the lead.

The river landed the {8-Clubs} and Sahota doubled to 400,000 as Moss dropped to 290,000 in chips.

Glen Wins Race to Double

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

James Glen opened to 29,000 in the cutoff and Nick Aguilera three-bet shoved from the small blind for 277,000 from the small blind with Glen calling all in for 189,000.

Glen: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Aguilera: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop of {3-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} put Glen in the lead, and when the {8-Diamonds} and {K-Spades} landed on the turn and river, Glen doubled to 400,000 as Aguilera slipped below 90,000.

Politakis' Set Not Enough

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Alex Politakis shoved all in from middle position for 160,000, and Mario Lopez called on the button.

Politakis: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Lopez: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The door card was a {4-Hearts} and Politakis had to be happy to see that. He was less happy to see the {8-Spades}{q-Spades} that followed. No one-outer arrived to save Politakis on the last two streets, and Lopez whipped out his phone and took a picture to document the set over set.

Francis Falls

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Travis Francis moved all in from under the gun for 41,000 and Blake Vincent called next to act.

Francis: {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Vincent: {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to see Francis fall in 30th place.

Flush for Sampson

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

On a flop of {3-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Valerie Cross fired out a continuation-bet of 43,000 and Paul Sampson check-called from the big blind.

The turn of the {8-Hearts} went check, check as the river landed the {3-Diamonds}.

Sampson bet 100,000 and Cross called. Sampson tabled his {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a flush as Cross flashed her {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} and mucked.

Sampson is now on the verge of eclipsing one million in chips.

Mulder Finishes Chan

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Aaron Mulder opened from an early position to 28,000, and Michael Chan shoved on the button. Mulder got the count and called 77,000 more.

Mulder: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Chan: {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Chan had live cards but the {7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop gave him little help. The {3-Hearts} brought some equity with a gutshot, but a river {7-Diamonds} harmlessly paired the board.

"Good game," said the winner of the 8-game event here at Run It Up Reno.

Kenney Doubles

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The action folded round to Eric Shiarla in the small blind and he moved all in. Joe Kenney called all-in for his last 87,000 and the cards were tabled.

Shiarla: {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Kenney: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Kenney doubled through to 190,000 as Shiarla was left with just 42,000.

Cloninger Doubles Through Chan

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Loren Cloninger opened for 23,000 under the gun, and Michael Chan three-bet to 60,000 from his immediate left. Cloninger moved all in when it folded back to him, and Chan got a count. It was 227,000.

"Call," Chan said, expressing that he was nonetheless probably beat.

Cloninger: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Chan: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

That was indeed the case. The {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop didn't bring much but a {k-Clubs} turn gave Chan a straight draw. The {k-Hearts} river was a blank though, and Cloninger doubled.
