Carney Doubles Through Elia

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Larry Carney opened for 100,000 and Ray Williams made the call in the small blind. Joseph Elia then shoved the big blind and Carney called all in for less.

Williams folded and the cards were revealed with Carney on {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} and Elia holding {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The board rolled out {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} giving Carney the full double and cutting Elia down to size.

John Grace

John Grace open shoved from early position and Ray Williams followed suit for a little more from late.

Folds all around left them heads-up with Grace's tournament life on the line holding {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Williams held {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and jacks did more than just hold, making a set on the {4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board.

Ferenc and Napierala Swap

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Geoffrey Ferenc bet 80,000 into a three-way pot on a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and only Blake Napierala called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and after a moment of silence, Napierala shoved. Ferenc snap-called with {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} having flopped a set and turned a boat.

Napierala's {a-Spades}{8-Clubs} combo draw was drawing dead.

Williams Chips Up

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Ray Williams keeps finding himself in preflop raising wars and ending them quickly with a shove.

First he took a pot off Joseph Elia and most recently he forced William Ho off a hand. He's now managed to chip up without having to show a hand, although he did show Elias {a-}{j-} and Ho {a-}{k-}.

Andy Spears Eliminated in 9th Place ($1,930)

Andy Spears

Larry Carney called a Rick Block opening raise and Andy Spears did the same, defending his big blind.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Spears shoved all in.

"They called this the stop and go back in the day," he said with a smile. Block folded, but Carney made the call with {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

"I have three to a straight flush," said Spears, showing {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} before the {9-Hearts} turn fell, leaving him drawing dead.

Martin Stiles Eliminated in 10th Place ($1,489)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Martin Stiles was one of several callers to an opening raise, then the only one when Joseph Elia shoved over the top.

It was Elia's {A-}{Q-} versus Stiles' {a-}{j-} and it held when a jack on the river made Elia a Broadway straight.

Zimmerman, Nablo Out; Final Table Set

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Jason Nablo
Jason Nablo

Jason Nablo called it off with {a-}{j-} when John Grace shoved {a-}{3-}, but a three on the flop did him in.

Meanwhile, on the other table, Doug Zimmerman jammed into a {q-}{5-}{4-} flop with {5-}{6-}, but Blake Napierala looked him up with {k-}{q-} and held.

With that, the final table of ten is now set.
