"If you can't beat kings and aces ..." Richard Butler sighed as his final all-in showdown also brought no fortune. He had been all-in with the A♥J♠ against Brian Rettman, who tabled 9♦9♥.
The pair remained ahead all the way on the 8♥6♠4♠7♦5♠ board and Rettman earned the knockout with the nine-high straight.
The turn showed J♠6♦3♥9♣ and Howard Lipman was facing a bet worth 7,500 by Marriette Language to then push all-in for 20,100. That sent Language deep into the tank and she called after using three time bank extensions.

The river brought the 6♣ and Lipman doubled, while Language dropped to fewer than one quarter of the starting stack.
On a three-way river of K♣7♦4♠5♦3♦, Bradley Moore raised to 7,000 and earned two calls.
"Anyone got a flush?" he asked when he tabled his 6♣6♠ for the straight. One muck later, Richards exposed his A♥6♥ for the same straight and they chopped the pot. Also on the table is Stephen Courtney, who is already up to three times the starting stack.
One player limped in and Brad Sinnema raised to 1,200 for Peter Smith to call. Aleko Manganas in the big blind called and the limper folded. On the J♦9♦7♦ flop, Manganas bet 2,000 and won the pot, as Sinnema and Smith folded.
The latter bemoaned a very bad flop for his hand and mucked his cards with disgust, exposing the A♠ in the process.
With 11,000 in the middle to the 8♦7♥3♣ flop, Jaime Vilela was all-in for 17,400. Damon Fine called with the superior stack and another player added "I am rooting for you" to Vilela when the cards were exposed.

Things were not looking fine for Vilela as he needed running cards to a straight or one of the two tens in the deck. Sure enough, the turn brought the 10♦ and the 6♦ river secured his double-up.

SM squeezed to 2,600 on the button and received no fewer than three callers before they checked the J♣4♣3♣ flop. On the 9♦ turn, Vishal Ghoorbin checked in the small blind and the big blind bet 5,500. Another opponent in early position called and SM then raised to 16,000.
Ghoorbin check-jammed and that forced out the first two opponents pretty quickly. SM went into a brief tank and then asked if Ghoorbin had a flush before he folded. Ghoorbin first flashed the A♣ before he also revealed the A♠ as well.
In a preflop raising war, a pot of 21,300 emerged and Stephen Courtney then faced the shove by Greg Tucker on the Q♦9♠7♠ flop for 17,300. Courtney bemoaned the spot but for a few seconds but called anyways with the covering stack.

Courtney was ahead and that remained the case throughout the 3♣ turn and J♥ river. Shortly after, Warren Zackey also lost his stack-ey and the second player bowed out from that table.
Day 1c is now up to 65 entries with 63 players remaining and it seems destined to become the biggest starting day thus far.
