Katz Folds to Third Shell

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

In a blind-versus-blind contest, Cary Katz and Kok Weng Beh made it to the flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}. It looked to be a good flop for Katz' hand as he held {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} but Beh had him crushed, having flopped the nuts with {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Katz check-called 3,000 and then check-called another 4,000 on the {6-Spades} turn. The river fell {K-Diamonds} and Katz checked one more time. Beh tossed in 10,000 and Katz quickly laid his hand down, saving himself the final shell.

Nitsche: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Greenwood: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Nitsche had a dominating hand but he was no longer ahead when the {J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop appeared. Greenwood caught a ten but Nitsche still had a solid equity with an open-ender and a backdoor flush draw.
