Large Doubles Mataruga; Then Finds His Own Double Up

Level 40 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Maxime Large
Maxime Large

Maxime Large opened to 600,000 from the cutoff before Igor Mataruga made it 2,300,000 from the small blind. Large then jammed as the covering stack and Mataruga quickly called off the remainder of his 10,275,000 chips.

Mataruga had the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and dominated Large's {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. The {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} runout gave Mataruga the chip lead.

Large was then all in for his last 2,100,000 shortly after and was called by Nicolas Tytgat.

Maxime Large: {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Nicolas Tytgat: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop had Large with one foot out of the door but the {9-Hearts} turn gave him outs to the flush. The {2-Hearts} river kept Large in contention as he found a quick rebound.

Semler Runs into Queens

Level 40 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Nicolas Tytgat limped in the small blind before Romain Semler jammed from the big blind as the covering stack, Tytgat quickly called off his 3,700,000 stack.

Nicolas Tytgat: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Romain Semler: {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Tytgat made a set on the {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop while Semler had a straight draw. Semler made an inconsequential pair on the {j-Spades} turn and the pot was pushed to the short stack following the {4-Diamonds} river.

Updated Stack for Final Two Tables

Level 40 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Raphael Blouet Eliminated in 13th Place (€7,500)

Level 40 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Raphael Blouet
Raphael Blouet

Nacho Barbero jammed for 5,450,000 before Raphael Blouet moved all in for slightly more in the small blind. Clement Bonnant made the snap-call from the big blind and had the two players at risk of elimination.

Nacho Barbero: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Raphael Blouet: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Clement Bonnant: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Bonnant was in a great position to add to his chip lead and it seemed all but certain after the {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop. However, the {9-Hearts} turn shot Barbero into the lead with a set and the {3-Diamonds} river confirmed his triple up while Blouet was eliminated after being covered by Bonnant.

Arturo Carnicer Eliminated in 14th Place (€7,500)

Level 40 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Arturo Carnincer
Arturo Carnincer

Arturo Carnicer moved all in for his last 2,500,000 from the small blind and was called by Stefan Baczynskyj who had Carnicer covered.

Arturo Carnicer: {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Stefan Baczynskyj: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flopped gave Baczynskyj a gutshot straight draw while Carnicer made a pair. The {j-Hearts} turn completed the bigger stacks straight and the {8-Diamonds} river confirmed the at risk player's exit.

Malet Goes into the Tank

Level 40 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Action was picked up on the turn with 1,400,000 in the pot. With the {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} board on show, Vincent Malet check-raised to 2,300,000 from under the gun after Igor Mataruga bet 650,000. Mataruga called from the button.

Malet then checked the {9-Hearts} river before Mataruga jammed for 6,100,000. Malet went deep into the tank, and after five minutes the clock was called and Malet eventually let it go.
