Richey Sends One Packing

We caught up with the action to see Bretty Richey facing an all in of an opponent for around 4,000. The board read {2-Spades}{K-Hearts}{A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Richey mulled over his decision.

Eventually Richey announced a call and showed {K-Spades}{3-Spades} for trip kings. Richey's opponent showed {A-Hearts}{8-Spades} and was behind. The {3-Diamonds} rivered and Richey was able to finish the hand with a full house. By eliminating this player, Richey has boosted his stack to about 20,500.

Counts From Around The Room

Selbst Eliminated

Like Greg Raymer, Vanessa Selbst was also eliminated before the first break.

The dealer at the table informed us of some of the details. With {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, Selbst got her chips into the middle of a seven-high flop with three diamonds against an opponent's {A-Diamonds}{Q-}. A black ace hit the turn and a diamond hit the river, ending Selbst's Day 1b.

Ho Eliminates Tamayo

We arrived at Maria Ho's table in the midst of a flurry of raises between her and Jonathan Tamayo.

By this point, Ho had put in a re-raise to what looked to be 1,525 on the button and action was back on Tamayo in the cutoff. He came back over the top of Ho and made it 3,300 before Ho re-raised to 7,600. Tamayo responded by moving all in for roughly 14,000, Ho callled with the covering stack, and the hands were revealed.

Showdown
Tamayo: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Ho: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, paring Ho's ace on the flop to send Tamayo to the rail.
