Sabat vs. Hortin

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Eddy Sabat got his stack of 21,100 all in preflop and found himself in great shape to double against Dylan Hortin.

Sabat: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Hortin: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Both players held an ace, but of course Sabat's kicker was best. The {5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Spades} flop didn't change much, but the {7-Spades} turn made things extremely interesting as Hortin picked up a lot of outs in the form of a straight and flush draw. Fortunately for Sabat, the harmless {K-Clubs} appeared on the river and he was shipped the double.

Bojang Doubles Through Liu

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We arrived at the table with the flop showing {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. The decision was on Ismael Bojang who thought about his decision for over a minute before announcing all in for his last 21,400 in chips. Xuan Liu was his opponent and made the quick call before both players tabled their cards.

Bojang: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Liu: {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Liu was leading with a pair of kings with Bojang needing to hit an ace to win the hand. The {q-Hearts} gave Bojang additional outs to a straight. The {a-Spades} on the river was just what Bojang needed as he made a higher pair to take down the pot.

Big Pot for Glazier

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With around 15,000 in the pot and a flop of {8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}, Jackie Glazier checked from the small blind and the player in the big moved all in for 18,700. The player on the button called, as did Glazier, and a side pot was created headed into the {J-Spades} turn.

Glazier checked, the button bet 25,000, and Glazier thought for a few moments before making the call. When the {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Glazier checked for a third time and the button did the same. Glazier then tabled the {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the rivered nuts, and it was good as the button showed {a-Spades}{x-} and the big blind {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Kastle Busts to Danzer

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Casey Kastle
Casey Kastle

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} with around 6,000 in the middle, George Danzer bet out 3,800 and Casey Kastle moved all in for 11,300 with Shao Liu calling next to act in the cutoff.

Danzer called also as both active players checked down the {5-Hearts} and {3-Hearts} on the turn and river.

Kastle tabled his {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}, but it would be Danzer's {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} that would see him scoop the pot to eliminate Kastle.

An Australian Poker Hall of Famer Downed

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

We saw Australian Poker Hall of Famer and former Aussie Millions champ David Gorr exiting the tournament floor, and he was kind enough to tell us about his demise.

Gorr was crippled after running {10-}{10-} into {q-}{q-}, and then a short time later he got his last 11,000 all in preflop holding {7-}{7-}. Pocket tens reared their ugly head again, but this time Gorr was up against them. The wily veteran failed to catch a third seven, and Gorr's run came to an end at the tail end of Level 8.
