Once the dust had settled last night, 183 entries were recorded for the second starting day of the €1,800 + €200 partypoker WPT National Main Event at the Corinthia Hotel in Prague and 101 players would bag up chips after eight levels of 60 minutes each.
Combined with the 24 survivors from Day 1a, this makes for an overall field of 230 entries and 125 participants are returning to the tables for Day 2. Late registration as well as the single re-entry option remain available until the end of level nine at blinds 400-800 / ante 100 and once the registration is closed, the payout will be made available.
Day 1a chip leader Alexander Lakhov kept the overall lead with 182,900 closely followed by Day 1b chip leader Nikolay Tsanev on 178,700. Oliver Heidel (169,700), Fahredin Mustafov (160,000) and David Vamplew (148,500) complete the current top five. Other notables with decent stacks include Anton Wigg (139,000), Simeon Naydenov (121,100), Stephen Chidwick (111,400), Chris Hunichen (99,100) and Maxim Panyak (94,500).
Two-times WPT champion Marvin Rettenmaier (62,400), Jakob Karlsson (61,500), Vladimir Troyanovskiy (61,500), Ka Kwan Lau (60,900), Tom Hall (58,600) and Jason Wheeler (55,500) can be found in the middle of the pack just above average.
Players can still register in the first level of play on Day 2 and the action gets underway at 13:00 CET, the single re-entry is available as well in level nine still. The tentative plan for today is a maximum of 10 levels of 60 minutes each or reaching the last 18 players. The PokerNews team will be there to cover all crucial moments of the event and the winner gets crowned on Sunday.
As of 23:00 CET the official WPT Players Party kicks off with complimentary drinks at the Hany Bany club a few hundred meters away from the Corinthia Hotel.
