As Day 1a of the WSOP Circuit Tallinn €1,500 Main Event went on dinner break, Vilde Ekren secured herself a WSOPC ring by conquering the €350 Ladies Event at the Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel & Olympic Park Casino. After a short celebration, Ekren decided to reinvest part of her winnings by entering the Main Event at the last possible moment.
Ekren became one of 120 entries on Day 1a, putting a decent dent in the €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. Ekren proved her victory was no fluke as she increased her starting stack of 50,000 to 538,000, netting her a fourth place on the leaderboard when the 18 survivors bagged and tagged. By making it to Day 2, they have all made the money, courtesy of Kaidar Viikman, who bubbled Day 1a as the clock struck 4 a.m.
Meanwhile, Tommi Savioja captured the chip lead with a stack of 680,000 after spending the majority of the day near the top of the counts. Finnish crushers Luka Sorainen and Elias Suhonen also bagged big with 539,000 and 449,000, respectively, while Andre Magi was the sole hometown player making it through Day 1a, ending with a stack of 296,000.

The legendary Vladimir Korzinin spent a few bullets going all in blind, but this strategy did not work in his favor as he was eliminated on all attempts. Defending champion Jenny Westerlund also made an appearance, but saw her first shot at retaining her title come to an end when Hans Erlandsson made runner-runner trips with nine-deuce offsuit. Erlandsson won the big pot, but was still eliminated a good while before the money would be reached.
The qualified players will sit down for Day 2 on July 31 at noon local time. Meanwhile, those who have fallen on Day 1a have four more starting flights to try and bag a stack. The next opportunity will be Day 1b, which will get underway at noon local time on July 29. Day 1c will take place the same day, starting at 6 p.m.
Day 1b will follow the same structure as Day 1a, playing 40-minute levels until 15 percent of the field remains, with new entries and unlimited reentries allowed for 12 levels, while the slightly faster-paced Day 1c has levels of 30 minutes.

It folded to Kristaps Sipols in the small blind, who jammed all in. Kaidar Viikman quickly called off his stack of 102,000 in the big blind, risking his tournament life.

Viikman just needed to fade a ten to double up, but he was unable to do so on the 10♣J♦3♠ flop. He tapped the table and stood up as the 2♥ turn and K♦ river left him unimproved, seeing him become the final exit of Day 1a.

Kristian Lilliedal raised to 24,000 under the gun. Sander Ostlyngen responded with a three-bet to 62,000 in the cutoff, after which Lilliedal moved all in for 245,000. Ostlyngen snap-called.
