Alaei Calls Zhou But Can't Beat Threes

Level 5

No-Limit Hold'em

Daniel Alaei bet 8,200 on the {8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs} board heads up against Chun Lei Zhou, who made the call in position. On the {q-Hearts} river, Alaei checked, and Zhou bet 16,000. Alaei counted out his stack and put his palm to his forehead as he considered the bet. Finally, after a sigh, he called.

Zhou looked at his hand for a moment before tossing {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} into the middle for a pair of threes. To his surprise, Alaei mucked his hand, and the dealer pushed Zhou the pot.

Hastings Straightens Out Leah

Level 5

Pot-Limit Omaha

On a flop of {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, Mike Leah checked over to Brian Hastings. Hastings shot out a bet of 2,200 and Leah tossed forward the call. The {Q-Hearts} fell on fourth street, causing Leah to check for a second time. This street, however, saw Hastings knuckle the table behind.

The {2-Hearts} completed the board and Leah checked one final time. Hastings flicked out a single 5,000-chip and Leah called.

"Straight," said Hastings, rolling over {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, playing his six-trey for a straight to the six. Leah mucked his hand and Hastings picked up the pot. He now has about 151,000 while Leah has dropped to 101,000.

Lisandro: {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}/{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Lisandro had a pair of sixes and an eight-six low, good enough to win both ways against Bloch's deuces with an eight-seven.

Limit Hold'em

Don Nguyen, Bryce Yockey, and Robert Mizrachi took a flop of {J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} in a raised pot. Nguyen checked, Yockey fired, and Mizrachi called. Nguyen tagged along as well, allowing the {4-Clubs} to pair the board on the turn.

Nguyen checked for a second time and Yockey kept his aggression. Mizrachi called once again but this time Nguyen chose to let his cards go .The {J-Spades} rivered and the action went check-check. Yockey rolled over {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Mizrachi mucked his hand. Yockey took down the pot and now has about 164,000 in chips.
