With roughly 150,000 in the pot, Ignacio Sagra, Joao Simao and Ryan Riess were looking at a board of 8♠5♠3♦.
Sagra checked from the small blind, which prompted Simao to place a bet of 40,000. Riess then responded with a raise to 120,000, before seeing Sagra check-raise all-in for 310,000. Simao got out of the way, and Riess went into the tank. After taking some time to think the hand through, Riess made the call.
Ignacio Sagra: J♠10♠
Ryan Riess: A♦9♦
Riess had made the hero-call with just ace-high and was correct, but there were several cards he needed to avoid.
The turn 6♦ kept Riess in the lead, and gave him a flush draw of his own, but the river J♥ was just what Sagra was looking for, his top pair giving him the best hand.
Sagra's stack was double-checked before the dealer pushed the huge double-up in his direction.
Melvin Wiener raised to 40,000 in middle position and only got called by Pat Mccoy in the big blind.
Both players checked all the way through the Q♦3♥7♥6♥ runout and a 9♦ hit the river. After a last check from Mccoy, Wiener bet 20,000 and Mccoy called. Wiener tabled 6♦4♦ for a pair of sixes but Mccoy revealed J♣9♣ for the nines and took down the pot.
Nicholas Peterson got his 330,000 stack in preflop, and was way out in the lead as Gregory Pearson made the call.
Nicholas Peterson: K♠K♦
Gregory Pearson: A♦K♥
The flop was a brutal one, as it came down J♣A♠9♥ leaving Peterson drawing to just a single out. He couldn't find it on the J♦8♥ runout, as Pearson dragged in the pot.
Gregory Fournier raised to 30,000 before calling the shove from Karle Wilson seated in the big blind for around 110,000:
Karle Wilson: Q♥Q♠
Gregory Fournier: A♠10♦
Wilson had good hopes for a double as the flop first fell 7♥4♣8♥ but a A♣ hit the turn and he got eliminated after the 7♣ completed the board.
Jinju Wu moved all in for 75,000, and only Lori Moniz in the cutoff called.
Jinju Wu: A♣10♦
Lori Moniz: K♠Q♦
The flop 8♥3♣9♣ kept Wu in the lead, but the turn Q♣ saw Moniz move ahead.
The river 6♠ was unable to save Wu, who vacated his seat and headed to the cash desk.
Hao Cheng started the action with a raise to 30,000 in the cutoff. Joseph Molitor shoved on the button for around 180,000 and Jun Lai called all in the big blind for 87,000. Cheng quickly folded.
Jun Lai: Q♥Q♠
Joseph Molitor: K♦Q♦
Lai found a favorable board with 6♠J♠A♣2♥3♠ and received the needed double up.
