Burnam Gets His Wish

Igor Pansovoi opened to 400 from middle position and Matthew Burnam three-bet to 1,500 from the hijack. Action folded back to Pansovoi, and he topped up his chips to make the call.

Before the flop was dealt, Burnam said, "I'll take an eight now... an eight and I win."

The dealer fanned the 2♠4♠8♠ flop, and Pansovoi checked. Burnam said, "Okay...I called the card," and moved out 2,000. Pansovoi mucked and passed the pot to Burnam.

Pansovoi continued by saying, "You think I was lying?... I wasn't lying," and showed a single card from his hand, the 8♦.
