A final check came from Niciforo on the 6♦ river, and Roberts jammed for 44,000. Niciforo went into the tank and, after thinking for around 90 seconds, slammed in the call.
Roberts confidently tabled K♦K♥ for an overpair, but to his surprise, and that of the rest of the table, he was behind Niciforo's 5♦5♠ for a full house.
