Pimlott Uses Two of His Lives
William Hayes opened to 1,100 from late position and Martin Gerloff called from the cutoff. Bryan Pimlott three-bet jammed for 11,400 on the button and Hayes made a quick fold.
Gerloff took longer to make a decision and picked up the call amount off his stack. He quickly pulled it back and shook his head and said, "I want you to survive," before mucking his cards.
A few hands later Hayes opened to 1,000 from under the gun and Pimlott called from middle position. Victor Paredes called on the button and so did Jacob Steede from the small blind. Micha Bitton defended his big blind.
The 2♥4♥8♠ flop saw the blinds check and Hayes bet 2,500. Pimlott jammed for his last 13,900 and the blinds both mucked. Hayes called and put Pimlott at risk.
Bryan Pimlott: 4♦4♣
William Hayes: A♥8♥
Pimlott was ahead on the flop having picked up a set of fours. Hayes was looking at top pair and the heart flush draw which gave him plenty of outs and a real sweat for Pimlott.
The Q♣ turn didn't change anything and the 8♣ river saw Pimlott hold and lock up more than a double-up.
