Costiniano Gets Away Lightly

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

With roughly 8,000 in the pot already, and a 72Q flop face up on the felt, John Costiniano check-called a bet of 4,000 in the small blind, placed by Duncan Horst in the cutoff.

Both players checked the 7 turn, but when Costiniano checked again on the 9 river, Horst put another 9,000 into the middle. Costiniano called again, and when Horst tabled AA, Costiniano flipped over AQ, revealing that he could perhaps have lost more than he did.
