Gleissner Runs Into McEwan's Queens

Bernd Gleissner jammed for 77,000 from the hijack, and Matthew McEwan moved in over the top for around 90,000 from the button. Once the rest of the table folded, the cards were tabled.

Gleissner had made the money, but now looked destined for the rail with the inferior pocket pair.

Nothing changed on the 2A34A runout, meaning McEwan's queens held up to send Gleissner out of the tournament.

Avery With A Very Risky Bubble Play

Adam Owen opened to 26,000 under the gun. The action checked around to Evan Avery, who defended from the big blind with the call.

The flop hit Q83. Both players checked.

The turn brought the 9 and a bet of 18,000 from Owen. Avery check-raised over the top with an all-in for just under 100,000 chips. Owen called.

Hand-for-hand play was called with 319 players remaining, and the bubble burst after the first wave of hands was completed. Somehow, seven players were eliminated simultaneously.

Evan Avery, Daniel James, Jamie Payne, Seymond Pon, Derek Kwan, Vincent Giuseffi, and Richard Kent all hit the rail at the same time. They shared four payout spots, each taking home $1,075.

Mortensen Squeezes Into the Cash

With the bubble at hand, and seconds before the floor announced that dealers should halt play after their current hands, Steven Mortensen moved all in with 157,000.

When Christopher Bissinger, seated to his immediate left, raised all-in on top, Mortensen panicked.

"Those were not the words I wanted to hear," he said.

No one else called and Mortensen was in jeopardy of getting bounced from the tournament just shy of the cash.

Crow's Got the Goods Against Johnson

There was around 80,000 in the pot, with the board reading 68J9. Daniel Johnson fired out 20,000 from the big blind, but faced a decision for most of his stack as Ryan Crow made it 70,000 from middle position.

Johnson agonized for quite some time, before letting go of his hand.

"Flopped it, and tried to trap," Johnson told Crow.

"Good laydown," Crow repsonded, flashing the A to show he had the nut-flush.

Depaulo Gets Double Knockout

The hand was picked up with Shai Zurr having three-bet Erik Bolton all-in with 62,000 from middle position. Matthew Wantman moved all in as well from the cutoff with 125,000.

When the action reached Ryan Depaulo, he elected to call. Bolton, feeling a certain pull to his right folded, and declared he had pocket queens.
