The short stacks had done nothing but double for the last three hours, but that became almost impossible on the A♣K♠8♣ flop, with Parssinen flopping top two alongside the nut flush draw. Helppi called for an eight, but the 10♣ river that fell had him drawing dead, with Parssinen ready to collect a second bracelet of the series.

Helppi's eight did come, but it was too little too late as the 8♠ river changed nothing, leaving him to fall at the final hurdle.
