Ke Loses Chips to Floor Ruling

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Yijhen Ke
Yijhen Ke

In the last hand before the break, Franky Green opened to 8,000 from middle position. The action folded to Yijhen Ke, who shoved all-in from Seat 6.

The players in the small and big blinds folded.

Ke, who had not seen Green's open, moved her to cards face down toward the dealer, believing she had won the hand. When told that there was another player in the hand, she reached for her cards, but the dealer stopped her and the floor was called over.

Ke's cards appeared to be clearly identifiable, as the cards from the two folded blinds were closer to the dealer and not touching her cards.

After being briefed on the situation, the tournament director told Ke that she was not obligated to lose her entire stack, but she was required to put 12,000 chips, the amount of a minimum raise, into the pot.

And her hand was declared dead.

Ke asked if it was possible for her to tell him exactly what two cards she had to prove that the ones in front of her were indeed hers, but was told that because there could not be 100 percent certainty, the hand was dead.

Ke said afterward that she had ace-queen.
