2026 World Series of Poker
When the action folded to Markus Gonsalves in the small blind, he checked out the 4,300,000 stack of Joshua Boulton in the big blind and then moved all in. Boulton peeled his cards and, happy with what he saw, called.
Joshua Boulton: K♦J♠
Markus Gonsalves: Q♥8♥
Boulton retained his lead on the 10♣7♠10♥ flop, but the 8♦ turn was not what he wanted to see.
The 6♥ river offered no reprieve, and Boulton's stack was shipped over to Gonsalves, who extended his chip lead.
Daniel Rezaei opened to 700,000 from early position, and Dominykas Mikolaitis defended his big blind.
Both the flop and the turn checked through, leaving the board to read 3♠7♥5♠A♦2♥. Here, Mikolaitis bet out for 1,500,000, and Rezaei folded.
The following hand, Rezaei opened to 700,000 under the gun and took the blinds.
Oliver Weis raised to 1,800,000 in the hijack, leaving 350,000 behind. Xiaoyao Ma raised on the button, which received folds from the players to act behind him before Weis called off the rest of his stack.
Oliver Weis: A♥8♦
Xiaoyao Ma: A♣J♣
Ma found a pair on the J♠9♦Q♦ flop, requiring Weis to hit his gutshot straight or running cards to survive.
The 3♠ turn was no help, nor was the 2♥ river, seeing Weis eliminated in 7th place.
Action folded to Markus Gonsalves in the small blind, and he opened to 900,000. Oliver Weis put in the call from the big blind.
Gonsalves then carried on with a bet of 500,000 on the 4♣3♣8♣ flop, which Weis quite quickly called.
The turn was the Q♥ and Gonsalves showed no signs of slowing down, this time sizing up to 1,500,000. Yet again, Weis made the call, taking the two to a 3♦ river.
Gonsalves fired a third barrel, this time a much larger one, to the tune of 4,000,000. For a third time, Weis called very quickly, and was shown the bad news as his opponent tabled A♣A♥. Weis flashed K♦Q♣ before throwing it into the muck.
Level: 32
Blinds: 150,000/300,000
Ante: 300,000
Oliver Weis opened to 500,000 under the gun, and Jeremy Izquierdo three-bet to 1,300,000 on the button. When the action returned to Weis, he moved all in, covering Izquierdo's stack. Izquierdo called, putting his 5,750,000 at risk.
Jeremy Izquierdo: J♠J♥
Oliver Weis: 10♥10♦
The 2♠4♠4♣Q♣9♠ runout was clean for Izquierdo, who survived with a double up.
Markus Gonsalves raised to 500,000 under the gun, which was met with a three-bet to 1,300,000 from Xiaoyao Ma in the cutoff. The action folded back to Gonsalves, who called.
Gonsalves checked in flow on a K♥5♥6♠ flop, and quickly released his cards when Ma continued with a bet of 1,600,000.
Jeremy Izquierdo opened to 500,000 from middle position, and Joshua Boulton stuck in a call from the big blind.
He then checked to his opponent on the 8♠8♥2♣ flop, and Izquierdo put in a continuation bet of 250,000. Boulton then slid forward a check-raise to 800,000, and Izquierdo made the call, undeterred.
The turn was the 8♦ and Boulton slowed down with a check. He folded to a bet of 350,000 from his Izquierdo.
Following a series of raise-and-takes, Dominykas Mikolaitis opened to 600,000 from the hijack. Markus Gonsalves was in the small blind, and put in a three-bet to 2,000,000. Mikolaitis smiled and folded.
Daniel Rezaei raised to 550,000 on the button, and Oliver Weis called in the big blind.
The 3♣2♣K♥ flop saw Weis check, Rezaei continue for 425,000, and Weis call.
Weis changed tactics on the 6♠ turn, leading out for 575,000. Undeterred, Rezeai kept up his aggression, raising to 1,700,000. That was enough to claim the pot, as Weis folded.
