The reigning WSOP Player of the Year, widely considered the player most likely to eventually chase down Series record-holder Phil Hellmuth (17 bracelets), finds himself with another opportunity to inch one step closer to "The Poker Brat" today.
Sporting a healthy lead over his nearest challenger Blaz Zerjav, Deeb will begin the final day of Event #74: $1,500 8-Game Mixed at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas with 3,090,000 chips, worth around 25 big bets. That makes him the odds-on favorite to capture the $181,625 top prize by day's end.
Standing in Deeb's way are the aforementioned Zerjav (2,330,000) and Jaswinder Lally (1,985,000), who round out the top three entering the day. Online phenom Viktor Blom (720,000) also remains in contention, though he'll have his work cut out for him as one of the shorter stacks.
Cards will be back in the air at 1 p.m. local time. Players will return for Level 26 with blinds at 30,000/60,000 and limits at 60,000/120,000. Levels will remain 60 minutes throughout, with play continuing until a new bracelet winner is crowned.
